I assumed older guys who have routinized lives during the season would be more prone to injury in this truncated, slapped-together season.

Then Chandler Rome needs to be slapped.

McCullers had a forearm strain in 2018 as well.

You dont need great pitching to win , you need clutch pitching : )

Yeah, Stanton said right after that a "strain" on this part of the body often means TJ...

Unfortunately, the whole premise of rebuilding and building a farm system may have changed with how the draft and farm teams will impacted this year , maybe next year etc

Justin Verlander had an MRI yesterday, Dusty Baker said. He told the team his arm was "tender" during Friday's start.

Baker: "It's not a pleasant situation to think about Verlander or think about how many young players we have in the bullpen and organization but we'll go back to drawing board."

Dusty in denial. Again, learning the hard way. this is Houston sports. When it comes to injuries, the worst case scenario is the only scenario.
That said, put $100 on the Texans winning the AFC title game. It's gonna happen.

    I hate 2020.

Chandler Rome has been a douche bag for years. I hope it’s only a couple weeks and they **** can Rome.

And im not sold that verlander is out out , i mean its 80% + he is ... but im guessing. Its also possible the 35 year old on the short runway is feeling tight and we are being cautious. Also multiple sauces have confirmed verlander is learning to throw lefty.

I am confident in our bats to carry us through the regular season. We will need good pitching performances sporadically to keep everyone sane , but a good offense can help our pitchers out if we start jumping out to big leads

They're just echoing the chronicle report... and they're going by their own word-to-mouth sources on the team/training staff.

Team's official line is forearm strain... but none of it is optimistic.

Chandler Rome reported he was done for the season

Dusty said they'll shut him down for 'a couple weeks'

Expect the worst (he's done), hope for the best!

Yes... and he eventually came back to pitch knowing full/well he was heading towards TJ surgery eventually.

It sounds like exactly what it is...A forearm strain that could be something serious, we'll see in a couple of weeks I guess.

Urquidy needs to come back ASAP and we just need others to step up.

Yordan and Tucker need to have big years.

One of our young starters will have to have a heck of a year. Still not giving up on these guys.
