That Jazz player deserved that sucker punch from Dream. It was his Cortland Finnegan moment.

Altuve has never slapped a rookie for not giving him his change.

It weird how all of your past life's regrets pop up in your brain.

Just realize that nobody else remembers them.

damn what a great movie. And soundtrack to boot.

The thing that will forever bother me, ‘Tuve constantly gets dragged. The dudes been raking forever… when did he pass the franchise single hits in a season, 2014? I can’t find that clip when he goes over to dap Biggio.

So I guess you can't decide between Bagwell or Biggio for spot 4, so you just say neither?

Judge's window to win a championship is so tight that if he doesn't get it done, or if the Yanks become a non-playoff team, he won't finish the contract with the Spankees.

Kudos to the Astros and Jose Altuve for getting it done.

Locked- up one of the best in the game.

    Let’s go get it.

Interesting benefit of Altuve's last 2cseadons bring so cheap.

    Obviously, the trade option:

Scenario: the Astros just ended a 75-87 season in 2027. Everyone from 2022 team except Altuve, Yordan, Diaz, and Brown are gone. All but Altuve will be gone in another season.

Altuve is owed $26M for 2 more seasons and wants a trade. A team like Miami wants his name and leadership and the low salary brings a huge return because he only counts $13M to CBT

    Scenario #2

Still 2027-28 offseason but the Astros are still winning. Hunter Brown and Yainer Diaz have become stars and heading into their last year and the team wants to extend them.

Altuve has been great the first 3 years of the deal but missed a bit of time and needs another year to get to 3000 hits.

The Astros offer to restructure Altuve's deal and add a season. They change 2 yr/$26M that counts $25M vs CBT to 3yr/$45M and save $10M in CBT money by giving him the extra year to get 3000 hits

That will never happen. The whole point of this extension is to see to it that he retires as an Astro. His contract is all about a grateful team paying homage to it's greatest player. The reason for the front loaded structure is to make it less painful to retire earlier if he is feeling his age before he gets to the end of his contract. I think he is likely to go after three years but would love it if he stays for all five.

    I agree that it's about 0.000000000001% chance.

A lot would have to go wrong and he would need to ask for it.

He's chasing 3000. If he's staying within reach, he's more likely to extend than to cut it short.
