I would be happy with us not signing ANYONE this free agent season except for veteran minimum players. Let everyone else spend like drunken sailors.
Didnt think the "Jon Koncak" / Jim McIllvaine scenarios would play out again. But here we are, they're at it again. With all the lockouts and wrangling over salaries the following years, all the analytics, figured salaries are generally close to actual market value. I'm guessing because the league WANTS teams to spend at least 90% of cap money to meet salary floor requirement, teams are fattening up the contracts they otherwise wouldnt spend
It seems 10 million a year is market value now for a competent rotation player. Most of the league is gonna be capped out despite the massive cap increase. Teams are spending, but not spending wisely. I'm actually happy we're staying out of this fray somehow. Would rather give out a massive one year deal if we have to meet the cap floor.
Jon Leuer & E'Twaun Moore were both traded to and waived by the Houston Rockets in summer 2012. Leuer was a throw-in of the Sam Dalembert +14th for 12th trade, as was Shaun Livingston. Moore was a throw-in in the Courtney Lee to Boston trade. Today, these two guys just signed contracts worth a combined $76M.
