Very sad news. I guess he was tired of watching the Astros as well. http://blog.chron.com/ultimateastros/2012/12/03/deshaies-leaves-astros-booth-for-spot-with-cubs/
He's one of the best. Houston is a good/big market, but Chicago is a good career move. Astros games are going to be so hard to watch.
I guess I should care, but never going to get CSN Houston anyways.........so it doesn't bother me who they put on...........
Was being discussed here in BROADCAST thread: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=226388&page=2 People are running around like there's a fire somewhere. I mean, dude was good... good color stuff...
I guess I thought he would be since he was an Astro. But with his talent and the work he's put into his craft, he probably has his sights set on a bigger stage. Maybe he'll do national games eventually.
Astros broadcasting with out JD?! Oh well, I wouldn't have saw the broadcasts anyways with them being on CSNH.
I don't think many announcers would pass up the chance to work for the Cubs if given the chance. I'm a little surprised that the Cubs were interested in someone that has never played for the team. If the Astros are smart they will bring back Dierker to the booth. I think he was the best analyst they've ever had. I actually thought Bill Brown and Deshaies were rather bland.

Never really cared much for JD on the Astros broadcasts, for some reason. I really liked Ashby on the radio broadcasts. Would love to see them bring him back for TV.
