any thoughts? I thought he was a solid contributor but I guess the Texans have a free agent in mind to replace him.

He couldn't catch passes and he fumbled punts too often. That is the reason Baltimore didn't protect him in the expansion draft.
I liked the guy a lot, but I believe he had a pretty high contract for a 3rd/4th receiver and a punt/kick returner. I think he was making more than 2 million a year and we could easily draft an adequate replacement in the low rounds or sign one for cheap.
Remember that pass in the Cowboys game that hit him right in the numbers and was dropped as he was 5 yards away from the endzone with no defenders in sight? I think you just might....
Avion Black stepped up, and Jermaine Lewis never seemed comfortable out there. Not to mention Lewis' salary (I believe around $6 million). It was rumored during the season, so I'm not suprised by it. If Casserly believes it will make the team better, then I'm all for it.
Damn, he lives in the house behind my cousins. They say he's a nice guy. Too bad he wasn't the player we thought he could be.
How long before you can get these for 20 bucks at Academy? http://store.houstontexans.com/product/index.jsp?productId=979964&cp=716711&parentPage=family
I hope the Texans can draft Senaca Wallace, I think he could be a dangerous kick-off and punt returner.
Exactly, and he got paid way too much. His fate was sealed when some backup had the best punt return of the season when he was hurt. It was no way we could keep him, it just didn't make financial sense.
Senaca did not participate in any drills at the combine other then QB drills. he had the chance to workout as a WR and turned down the oppurtunity
http://espn.go.com/nfl/columns/pasquarelli_len/1513564.html WR Anquan Boldin (Florida State): Clocked in the 4.75-4.83 range on Sunday, and that doesn't even register as pedestrian speed. At 6-feet-1½ and about 218 pounds, he has the size and physical nature teams covet, but is very raw in terms of route-running, a former high school quarterback still learning the nuances of the position.
Lewis sucked...He couldn't catch and was fumble prone... It was a total waste of a pick... But I bet he'll be awesome for someone else this season, which is the Houston curse...
no the oiler/titan curse is holding on to a guy for about 3 more years than they should have and then letting the guys contract run out titan curse=hold on too long texans=smart move to free up space and money.. woohoo we really do have a good owner GM coach and anyone else who wants to take the credit for this grand move
