Give him a little more time, I guess... but at some point, the diminishing returns are exponentially multiplied.

I agree. He's not the player they hoped he would be. I'd rather have Rozier from the Hornets than Jalen.

Imagine posting this after Green seals the game by dropping 23 points with a .6 TS%.

What diminishing returns? He takes bad shots sometimes and plays poor defense — so does half the rest of our young guys. I agree Green, to me, seems like the least likely to turn into anything more than a Lou Williams or Jamal Crawford but given two of his years were with what everyone here seems to think was totally inept coaching staff (and not a product of FO decisions to reduce win totals), then how can you also argue we need to ditch ANY player already?

Jalen is still young. He has tons of athleticism and he can explode on any team.

If he shows a willingness to learn and improve, to try much harder on defense, to care about winning more than about his stats, and if he accepts that he can be 1B to Sengun being 1A, like Jamal Murray to Jokic, then we should keep him.

A clear pecking order will be important going forward.

Doesn't mean he can't be our leading scorer.

The only way is restricted FA..... goes for Bari as well.

I can't tell what a borderline AS is worth....getting whichever returns.

There is still hope in Jalen. It wouldn't make sense to give him up. Unlike Jabari, he promises something with his talent. The problem with that is different. He's not mentally strong. From time to time the he is losing during the game. He needs to develop mentally. This is something he can do. I'll be patient with him while he's still on his rookie contract. Until the end of next season. If he crosses the required mental threshold, he will become a good player. If he can't get over it, I offer him 18-20 million per year and if he stays. If not, he can leave.

Nahh it’s too soon for that.

He’s playing poorly right now but he’s only 21 and still has a ton of untapped potential.

He’ll likely take a big leap sometime within the next couple seasons.

He tries hard enough but his techniques in defending and attacking the rim are just so poor. It's been 2+ years now, will he ever learn?

You want to move him with plenty of perceived upside still there.

You cannot even tell what upside, the market has a will of its own.

    An Enigma of a player.
Houston is not a destination for the biggest stars right now, trading Green is not going to change that in the short term.

We were hoping for Steve Francis level of play from the 2nd pick, but we got Zack Lavine instead.

So he turned out better than you were hoping for?

Lavine is a much better player than Steve Francis. lol

Francis is equivalent to a Tim Hardaway Jr.

Nope Francis was a Marbury lite or Marbury without the antics but still substance abuse.

Hardaway Senior perhaps. Jr. is not a PG.

Francis was 2 time or 3 time All Star.

He had some good moments in last night's game when he stayed in a more proper role where he was only taking the best shots that came to him in the flow of the offense and not trying to do too much.

He then had moments where he wanted to be "the guy" and he looked terrible trying to do that.

Udoka is going to have his hands full trying to get Jalen to buy into a role he's capable of....but if he manages it, then he might be a player worth keeping.

Bizarre timing for this thread after he played his best game of the season.

Give him a chance to see what he can do under Udoka. There’s no need to rush this.

Selling low on Jalen could prove to be quite stupid.

    Nah, ride or die.

If he never reaches potential, so what, on to the next guy.

The good Ole I think he sucks so let's trade him for someone better than him and let's fire the gm if the return is not better than him. Noce

Is this the most positive post you have ever made about green?
