He is no further down than at least Top 20 All time.... I think his stats were pretty good. Lebron actually plays a more crafty, bullish version of Pippen, Swiss army knife type of way with more scoring and shooting. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1993–94_Chicago_Bulls_season https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1994–95_Chicago_Bulls_season Those were the seasons without Jordan. He led alrite.
LeBron is the only superstar in the NBA according to some people's definition. Klay is the second best shooting guard in the league. If not for Curry, he would be the best shooter in league. If he's part of a big three, you have a championship contender.
yeah harden can win 60+ too with Pops. but my question was last year's rockets - same roster & same coach durant who was pretty sure he can't win with Westbrook and Adams will suddenly be confident to win with beverly and last years 25-minute Capela? KD didn't even want to join the Rockets with Harden much less the Rockets by himself KD is far from a great playmaker as Harden Harden is better in ISOs than KD KD can't drive and sacrifice his body as much as Harden or Westbrook and really? Klay as the main supertar of the rockets last year? LOL Klay is at Ego's level not Harden's maybe steph but will pbev or ego start?
Klay Thompson is no superstar. But it's amazing how Rockets fans want to trash him like he's a scrub or garbage, just because someone once said that he was better than Harden.
I'd say Reggie Miller is a very fair comparison vs Klay. The only difference would be clutchness, and the surrounding team. Would you consider Reggie Miller a superstar? Would you say Reggie Miller was an all-time great? Seems very borderline, and it takes optimism to push Reggie up the list. A lot of people have problems w/ putting Reggie higher than Ray Allen, Chris Webber, etc.
I personally consider Klay better overall than Reggie. Better shooter, much better defender. A prime Klay would have been a bigger star on those old Pacers than Reggie himself. I also think Ray Allen and Chris Webber are better than Reggie. Nevertheless, Reggie was considered the face of the Pacers and a superstar during his time. And he is a HoFer. So if Reggie is a superstar, then so is Klay.
Possibly another factor we forgot was that he was the best player on that team. Unfortunately, Klay is 3rd or 4th on his team. Hard to know how much exactly he's contributing to his team's wins.
reggie miller was not a superstar. 90's nostalgia really got yall overrating the **** out of anybody that played in that era.
Klay Thompson can have a off game and no one bats an eye. Won't even get mentioned in the ESPN post game summary because Warriors probably won anyway. Superstars have an off game and it's the first bullet point.
hes an all star, not a superstar. if a superstar is the highest label a player can obtain, hes far from that type of player but still good
Klay is excellent at what he does, which is shooting, playing off the ball, and defense. That said, I can't see a team getting past the second round if Klay was the no. 1 option. In other words, amazing player, but not quite a super star...
