That’s great! The club’s been there forever, and while intimate and can get crowded, if you can get a table, there isn’t a better club for jazz in town. You are right there with the musicians. The Elephant Room’s nothing but jazz. Other clubs certainly have jazz on their menu from time to time, but they aren’t devoted to nothing else like this place. One of the few places that remind me of some of the little jazz clubs in New Orleans or the Village. I wish there were more like it in Austin, since I’ve always had an eclectic taste in music. I didn’t know what you liked and took a chance. It’s far out that you went there. Next time you’re thinking of coming to Austin, check out online for who’s playing ahead of time. They usually have videos that can give you an idea of the style. Some have singers as well, which I really like.
