I am sick to death of reading David Andersen's name being spelt David Anderson. The guy doesn't moonlight as a Texan. Whether you love the guy or hate him, please spell his name Andersen.

    That is all.

Yeah, imagine if people spelt Chuck Hayes' name Chuck Haze. It would drive people mental. It's not that hard to get right.

Haha, I am Aussie. But it's not like I feel any special allegiance to David, or am part of the David Andersen cheer squad. I would be exactly the same if everyone started spelling Chase Budinger's name Chase Buddinger too!

When he starts playing better, then we'll remember how to actually spell it.

To be honest I hate seeing it spelled wrong too. If you are a fan of the team it seems as though you would know how to spell his name. I don't care if he is our first option or option fifteen not suited up. And no I'm not an Aussie.
Would you not correct someone you are speaking to that mispronounces your name?

'Spelt' is now accepted as colloquial english, you will find it in many dictionaries (especially online). But besides, I'm not trying to be the grammar police as I'm no spelling expert. But a person's name is different!

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spelt

Spelt (Triticum spelta) is a hexaploid species of wheat. Spelt was an important staple in parts of Europe from the Bronze Age to medieval times; it now survives as a relict crop in Central Europe and has found a new market as a health food. Spelt is sometimes considered a subspecies of the closely related species common wheat (T. aestivum), in which case its botanical name is considered to be Triticum aestivum subsp. spelta.

    spelt 2 (splt)
    v.
A past tense and a past participle of spell.

It's also in the Oxford English dictionary if you care to look it up. (It's just not used in the USA).

    ANYWAY

Like I said, I was referring to names in particular. It just shows a lack of respect towards one of your Rockets players.

You know his name will always be spelled incorrectly. Brian/Bryan Cook... Mutombo/Mutumbo...

    Clutchfans.com is notorious for this.

Point being, this really didn't need a thread.

Haha, I know there'll always be some people who spell it wrongly. But does that mean we shouldn't try? It's like saying what's the point of trying to stop global warming when there'll always be some countries who don't care.

    I realise this didn't NEED a thread, next time I'll just post a T-Mac thread I think.
