    my old boss is from east texas and he went to baylor, his family is from Vietnam, he had a texas accent. but he is a real life texan, hunting and fishing and a gun nut.

    I knew a Chinese-American girl from Texas who had a normal accent, but her mom had a Texan accent, which was interesting.

    Awesome job! I think the interviewer came off a bit awkward TBH.

    As for the accent thing, I admit this popped in my head, but I had to Google it to remember the guy's name. He's John Cho, a Korean-American stand up w/ a noticeable southern accent (evidently he grew up in Tennessee).

    I do have a bit of an accent which a lot of my friends in MN and CA give me a hard time about but usually don't emphasize it. When I was a kid though my accent was a lot heavier. I guess I just happened to grow up around a lot of rednecks.
