So our shot profile is very good.

Playing Thesis with Wood has been very very bad.

I mean, its hard to say if we are really tanking or not. But if we are getting good shots than ..I mean, idk. Even now, I struggle to make any sweeping judgements.

Sounds like the eye test was right for those that said Theis/Wood is a bad combination during the preseason. I was willing to give it a few months thinking they just needed to develop chemistry together, but overall it's been bad. They badly need to replace Theis with KJ or Alp in the starting line up.

I gotta say, I did not expect offense to be the Rockets' main problem.

Abandon the 5 out and start running some 41 with Wood in the post and PREACH MOVEMENT and read and react skills. Initiate PNR with Wood as roll man out to the 3 and create some natural space for the other players. Theis and Green to the bench. Sengun and Gordon to the first team. No more House or Nwaba minutes - allocate those to Christopher and Garuba with the 2nd unit.

Iko is just breathing my fumes.

CF clued onto the spacing and rotation issues from jump street.

Theis is horrible at 5 and no way should start next to Wood.

Green coming off the bench would also be beneficial in terms of efficiency of guard play as well as balancing the rotations.

I believe what Iko is saying to be true. I've been saying as much.

*System would have Rockets top notch if they made just some of those shots.
    *Players need to finish
    *Spacing is an issue
*When the Rockets finally have a lead in the 3rd quarter, hardest thing in the
NBA is to finish the opponent.

I'm not saying Silas is perfect; I would have moved:
*Sengun to starter (Theis to backup) several games ago
*KMjr to starter (Tate to backup) day one
*I'm ok with Green to backup (Eric Gordon start)

    Starters.................................Stagger rotation:
    1) Porter Jr.............................Eric Gordon
    2) Eric Gordon.......................Jalen Green
    3) Kenyon...............................Tate
    4) Wood..................................Wood
    5) Sengun...............................Theis

Jalen Green says he is lifting weights to build stronger legs. Throwing his shot off, imo.
But it's more important to me that Jalen builds strength and starts getting a grasp
of the system than play well. The playing well will come. The shots will fall eventually.
I see it as front rimming everything.....and then he overcompensates by clanking off the
back rim. Lifting weights or maxing out during the week will do that.

Playing Green on the second unit separates Green/Porter, who are just too raw as
key facilitators. You help out Porter by adding Eric Gordon (3-pt threat and creator)
and Sengun (3-pt threat and creator). Green plays against second unit players and
learns how to pass properly.....dribble at varying heights and speeds (hesitation).

Add Tate to second unit as a creator facilitator. Problem is by creating spacing
to first unit, you create poorer spacing to second unit. You kinda have to work
in Wood, Eric Gordon, Armoni Brooks, Garrison in there to assist with spacing
to offset Tate/Theis/Green inadequate 3-pt shooting at the moment.
    _______________________________

    Interesting tidbit per basketball-reference.com (shooting):
    Player.............% of FG Ast'd
    Mobley.............69.6 ( 2P )......1.000 ( 3P )
    S Barnes...........31.3 ( 2P )......50.0 ( 3P )
    Jalen Green......50.0 ( 2P )......62.5 ( 3P )
    ----------- then look at
Player...........% of FG attempt by distance (note: not FG% at each distance)
    .....................2P.......0-3......3-10.......10-16......16-3P........3P
    Mobley.........85.5......38.8......26.7........13.3...........6.7.........14.5
    S Barnes......93.7......32.3......34.2........17.1...........10.1.........6.3
    Jalen Green..49.4.....26.7.......8.5..........4.0............10.2........50.6

Theis is just a backup Center and he is suppose to get limited minutes. I do not understand this offense at all i really think now they are trying to lose on purpose. Wood is a Scoring Forward, he is not on the court to pass but to shoot. You cannot find BIG MEN who can shoot the 3's like Wood. Wall always gave the ball Wood to get him going in the game. They are not using Wood correctly. Jalen has lost his confidence in shooting and just look confuse right now. He needs a point guard to get him setup for his shot, you can see Sengun tries to setup players to get their shot. WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why, Sengun is not playing more. The offense needs to go through him. I'm losing my confidence in Silas. People keep saying he is not getting a fair shot? In the Harden trade he wanted Oladipo, this offseason he wanted Nwaba. Porter? When he plays PG it look like street ball.....pounding....pounding.....pounding the ball and then turnover it eventually. We need coach Lucas to be the Head Coach or what about Coach Sampson?

Theis unfortunately needs to be benched. Not a bad player, just a terrible fit with Christian Wood.

You have to play more shooters, and Sengun obviously. Have to make it as easy as possible on our young guards. Go small, spread the floor, stop worrying so much about defense.

All that aside, keep up the tank. Be patient.
