1. Brewer would never see the floor - unless we needed that 10th man spark. 2. Harden would be playing at least moderate defense or he would sit a lot more often (Not benched, but I would rest him a lot more so that a defensive rotation can play more) 3. Tjones would be traded - he needs to bounce the ball to be successful - he doesn't fit. 4. Lawson would be starting at PG, and would be bringing the ball up EVERY TIME he is in the game - he would initiate the offense. 5. Harden would start off the ball and we would try to END possessions with him having it, if nothing develops. 6. Dwight would PnR to death 7. Capella would be the backup to Dwight, not the starter (Even if that means TJones has to play until we get a better option) 8. We would run up the floor and look for early offense - a good shot early in the clock is just as good as a good shot late. 9. Ball and body movement, lots and lots of read and react style of plays 10. Defense would not switch everything. 11. Trap the PnR in the 4th quarter to disrupt the rhythm 12. Would not focus on the 3pt shot so much - if open, fine, if not, move the ball 13. Thornton would play more, but be asked to shoot a bit less And that is just for starters. DD
.....so it's a simple matter of looking for shots in transition but also playing a motion offense with read and react but also lots of pick & rolls and also trading Terrence Jones and also starting him and also playing more defenders and also sitting Brewer the defensive specialist for Marcus Thornton the shooter but having him shoot less, but also less three pointers but also using Harden as a decoy until late in the shot clock. And that is just for starters. This is the perfect Platonic ideal DD post.
If I were coach 3 things would happen for sure. 1. Fined out the @$$ for yelling at refs and making comments to the media 2. Getting in the face of half the players on the Rockets during the game 3. Get fired
Brewer have a "Brewer has got to go" thread anywhere? Maybe he will go off and drop 30+ for 3 games after snowconeman22 sets one up? LOL That...or "FREE SNOW CONES FOR EVERYBODY!!!!" - Oprah
I don't mean to oversell myself at all...but surely I would be able to coach a team this talented to at least a couple of wins? Also, the great thing if I was coach is I probably would only make it about 11 games or so like McHale did (maybe even less than that). Then, after I inevitably got fired, I would be paid 12 million dollars to not coach, just like McHale is.
I would start out 8-0 with this team then get fired due to why I'm 8-0. I'd be benching the F outta Harden.
Actually, Harden would be involved in the early offense (If he runs) and would be the primary offensive target during our R&R - then if it is late, he would have the ball in his hands...last 8 seconds to create. BTW - Thornton's D is not bad, and Brewer's D is only good for steals - he is not a good positional defender - he is constantly losing his man. But hey, I Look forward to your answer Sam Fisher for what you would do as a coach, instead of criticizing other people, put your opinion out there for folks to comment on? But, that would be against your usual, hit and run-would be interesting to hear what you would do. DD
