yeah who was that? I remember saying kt was a better rebounder and someone said no way. Anyways I dont know if Kenny would work at the three. Can anyone say Corliss Williamson sp? he was a decent 4 but a pretty bad 3 and was undersized like KT. I would love to see KT make the trasition but I would rather see him play at his natural position of 4. I think he will be fine there.
I'm just guessing, but about the rebounding argument, usually TheCat is the one defending Mo. Although I agree that Kenny is the better rebounder, Mo Taylor is not bad at it. He's decent. He's no Danny Fortson, but not useless like you guys make it sound.
I agree that Kenny can be a great player, but he is not very consistent yet. He has some great games like last night, and then he has other nights where he doesn't do much at all. But I think there is a lot of hope!
I liked the way Thomas has been playing this yr. He finally realized that he's not a 3 pt shooter and so maybe did the drunk too. He's attacking the basket and sometimes drawing fouls. Against the top tier 4's he's still having problems, but other than that, i'm happy with his production.
Kenny will never become a great power foward, his size just won't let him...unless he turns into another Barkley. But, he can be a solid starter for many years to come, or a sixth man type. I've always thought that he would be a piece of the long-term puzzle, and wouldn't just be a fill in. Right now, it looks like that may happen. Besides, KT is the greatest power forward in the league thats been bitten by a dog named "Cato".
I take the people's arguments for Kenny at SF more seriously than I ever did last year, but to me, it comes down to the thread title again. In Rudy's system, we NEED our SF to be able to knock down the open 3 consistently. If Kenny were to make the move to SF without convincing us (or rather Rudy) that he can knock down the open 3, then it would have to be our PF or someone. Hey, I wouldn't be opposed to that.
Kenny is a good shooter, he just doesn't have enough confidence in his shot. He simply needs to TAKE those outside shots he's been getting, and he will hit a high percentage.
You'd think so, but when he did follow that philosophy he routinely shot under 40%. Maybe he should work on his shooting mechanics a bit more. His shot does look rather.....awkward.
I think Kenny might need a raise if we're paying Mo Taylor $48million. Kenny this season - 11.9 pts/7.4 rebs/ 48.2 fg% Mo last year - 13 pts/5.5 rebs/ 48.9% I always thought Kenny could be a good bench player but damn he hustles so much and he looks like he's working hard on his body. When KT came to Houston he had one of those Mo Taylor caboose butts but now he's really slimmed down and looks like he's bulking up. I'd always take a less talented hard working player over a more talented lazy ass. It will be interesting to see if Kenny can improve his outside shot or improve his shot selection so he's not way out there taking 20 footers and instead taking a more mid range 16-17 footer. The height will always be a problem against guys like Garnett but if he bulks up enough he can probably offset it with power and his quickness. It will be fun to see where KT is in 3 years. He could be a player if he continues to improve.
