Just for fun, post your fantasy basketball team.

    mine:
10 people, h2h, 9 cat. I made a rule for myself to not draft any rockets players. I always tend to overrate the Rockets.

    1. (7) Danny Granger (Ind - SF,PF)
    2. (14) Brook Lopez (NJ - C)
    3. (27) Al Jefferson (Uta - PF,C)
    4. (34) Tyreke Evans (Sac - PG,SG)
    5. (47) Joakim Noah (Chi - PF,C)
    6. (54) Raymond Felton (NY - PG,SG)
    7. (67) Caron Butler (Dal - SG,SF)
    8. (74) John Wall (Was - PG)
    9. (87) Carl Landry (Sac - SF,PF)
    10. (94) Vince Carter (Orl - SG,SF)
    11. (107) Jose Calderon (Tor - PG)
    12. (114) J.J. Hickson (Cle - PF,C)
    13. (127) D.J. Augustin (Cha - PG)
    14. (134) Dorell Wright (GS - SG,SF)
    15. (147) Serge Ibaka (OKC - C)

I am decently happy with my picks. I just need Granger to stay healthy and I would be ecstatic if Carter has a bounce back year. I am also hoping Cousins won't kill Mandry's values. I am alittle worried about the lack of a great assist man and shot blocker.

My strategy is to own on FT%, 3PM, Steals, Assists, Blocks
I'll probably lose FG%, Rebounds, Points

In an 8 category league (no TO's)...hopefully I can go 5-3 every week. Odd strategy I know, but I think I can beat the teams that got 1-3 picks...I had the 8th pick.

    STARTERS
    PG Aaron Brooks, Hou PG
SG Stephen Curry, GS PG, SG
SF Danilo Gallinari, NY SF, PF
PF Anthony Randolph, NY PF, C
    C Samuel Dalembert*, Sac C O
G Jason Kidd, Dal PG [Breaking News and Video]
F Tyrus Thomas, Cha PF [Recent News]
UTIL D.J. Augustin, Cha PG [Recent News]
UTIL Mo Williams, Cle PG [Recent News]
    UTIL Brandon Jennings, Mil PG
    BENCH
Bench Jarrett Jack, Tor PG, SG
Bench JaVale McGee, Was C, PF
Bench Brendan Haywood, Dal C [Breaking News]

How many teams in the league?

By the way, I think your strategy can work, particularly in larger leagues when it's impossible to be good everywhere. I won a large league a while ago byfocusing on the guard categories (FT%, STL, 3s, and Assists) + blocks with a decent amount of points scored. Basically, I focused on getting good guards and SFs early and picked up a few shot-blocking bigs who don't do much of anything else in the mid to late rounds.

Between FT% and FG%, I find FT% to be more consistent week-to-week while FG% is more flukey so even a relatively bad FG% shooting fantasy team has a decent chance to luck out.

I'm in three leagues but here is the one I had last night. $400 pot is on the line in this one. 8 teams, 9 categories, and 15 spots. I drafted a bunch of bigs to work out trades.

I received several trade offers today that I'm mulling it over. I still need a good PG. I'm certain at the moment I'm the strongest in the league in four categories. I still need to pick up another category though. Most folks in my league want Blake Griffin or Love. I have one guy that's offering Wall for Griffin. I'm looking to swing a deal for Rondo for Griffin. I think once I have Rondo, I'm pretty much set for the year.

    1. (4) Deron Williams PG
    2. (13) Pau Gasol PF,C
    3. (20) Brook Lopez C
    4. (29) Zach Randolph PF,C
    5. (36) Kevin Love PF,C
    6. (45) Blake Griffin PF
    7. (52) Devin Harris PG
    8. (61) Jason Richardson SG,SF
    9. (68) Gilbert Arenas PG,SG
    10. (77) Luol Deng SF
    11. (84) Anthony Randolph PF,C
    12. (93) Emeka Okafor C
    13. (100) Corey Maggette SF,PF
    14. (109) J.J. Hickson PF,C
    15. (116) James Harden SG

If you draft well, it is possible to be good in every category. I am always in a 12 team league and last season, I went 8-1 almost every week. The only category I never won was turnovers. I think the team I posted above has a good shot at winning the rest of the 8 categories every week. Imo, its about drafting specialty players. I had the league leader in 3 pointers, rebounds, blocks, and steals on my team last year and it payed off big time.

You can do it in 12-team leagues, but large leagues are a different animal. I am referring more to 20-team-type leagues, where you 5th best guy, at least as of draft day, is drafted with the 80th-100th pick. It's harder to cover all bases.

    ^^^^
That would be a great team in the NBA, fantasy wise it has plenty of flaws. Your team will get very few assists and will even struggle in both blocks and rebounding with your lack of big men.

Just to piggyback on what he said, depending on what type of league your end, you have some flaws.

I'm guessing you're looking to win in points, three's, Ft%, steals, and FG%. I think you have a chance but FG% isn't a lock by any means.

I really like my ESPN league's team:

    Tyreke Evans
    Jamal Crawford
    Carmelo Anthony
    Kevin Love
    Dwight Howard
    Russell Westbrook
    DeMarcus Cousins
    John Wall
    Jrue Holiday
    J.J. Hickson
    Rodrigue Beaubois
    DeJuan Blair
    Lou Williams

Can you notice a theme with (almost) all the players I chose? Young with potential, potential, potential.

    Note: 10-team league.

Not bad at all. The only player I worry about is Westbrook...

Is that the order you selected them from?

    Nope. The order was:

    5 Dwight Howard
    16 Carmelo Anthony
    25 Tyreke Evans
    36 Russell Westbrook
    45 John Wall
    56 Kevin Love
    65 Jrue Holiday
    76 DeMarcus Cousins
    85 Jamal Crawford
    96 J.J. Hickson
    105 Rodrigue Beaubois
    116 DeJuan Blair
    125 Lou Williams

The hardest picks for me were Beaubois (because he's injured), Crawford (because I think he's overrated), and Williams (Holiday may steal his stats). I disagree about Westbrook -- he was a monster for my fantasy team last year, and I think he'll be even better this year.

I know, right? How do you get Bryant, Anthony, Curry and Lopez? They're all 1st or 2nd rounders in typically sized leagues.
