I love that Stephen A said that looking to pair a coach with a specific assistant is an indictment on the head coach.

When the Nets hired Jason Kidd, him hiring Lawrence Frank was a requirement.
When the Warriors hired Steve Kerr, going after Ron Adams was part of the deal.

It amazes me how some of these coaches get concessions made for them. If you could do it all, that's one thing. They're hiring D'Antoni but also putting together an appropriate staff. What did he do to get these concessions made for him other than what he did in Phoenix? That was prior to 2008. We are now in 2016. Coaches that won a couple of years ago can't get a job. He hasn't won in 8 years and folks are giving him 3rd interviews and making concessions for him. For what? ... He's the same guy coaching in Phoenix, when they acquired Jim Jackson, Jackson had a turnover. Jackson raced down to foul the guy who stole the ball from him. D'Antoni summoned him over, come here, come here, and said we don't do that here. We let him score, it keeps the pace up. I just don't understand.

That quote really baffles me. Is this the kind of coach Les and Morey wants to lead thisteam? Especially in the playoffs, where the game slows down a little bit and where you need stops? D'Antoni would be such a horrible choice.

Leslie loves himself some run and gun, he said he wants to do it for the next 10 years and that was a few years back, but while Morey might not have him as top choice, I'm thinking he actually likes it too.

The other thing I really want to know is how much money is Les going to give MDA? Is he gonna get MDA relatively cheap, say 6 mill for 3 years? Or maybe even only a 2-year deal? Or is he gonna shell out 10-15 million over 3-4 years? If it's a low cost deal then it's a tread water move. If it's bigger money in line with the top coaches then it's a serious commitment and I think could spell the end of Morey here.

Once again, Morey knows MDA is not a championship building coaching hire. He knows it. Morey knows we've already extracted all the good out of MDA's system. He knows, and has been very vocal that the D has to be fixed. And he knows an MDA hire further depletes defensive structure.

1. You guys wanting Skiles as top defensive assistant must be crazy MMA fans.We'd need an Octagon on the practice floor to contain the blood from those two men trying to rip each other's eyes out. It would be more entertaining than Ryan/Gillbride circa 1993.

2. If I were Dwight I would opt-in for next season if we hire MDA just to screw the organization back as much as possible. I wouldn't let them clown me out like this. Then I'd make it impossible to trade me for value by being disruptive to the "system" as much as possible.

3. If I were Morey I'd be letting the back channels know I'm interested in other jobs. No way can Morey be effective with Les overriding so much.

4. Other than Cuban is there a more meddlesome owner than Les? I think Les meddles more than even MJ does.

5. If Les goes through with this MDA hire I'm going to be watching to see how the roster shapes up. If we start bringing in low-character guys like Nerlens Noel, Larry Sanders et al, then I'm going to give this team maybe 10 games into the regular season to see what the product looks like. If it is what I think it will be, I might just step away from the team myself. I'm not going to waste time following a team that is self destructive because ownership has proven to be incompetent. And that's very difficult for me to say.....or do. But im pretty sure I'll know very quickly how good or bad we're going to be next season. And after this past season debacle of epic proportions I may just sit on the sidelines and wait for an ownership change. If the owner is a boob, the team has no chance. I have been on Les' bandwagon up until this past season, constantly forgiving his overreach and excusing him as a rabid fan. I can't do it any longer if he hires MDA. Last season's dysfunctionality between Les, Morey, and Harden was all I could stomach. If it gets worse I'm pretty much done and will have lost any shred of my remaining waning confidence in Les.
