...and yet people say things regularly on this board like: "You can't sit Durant or the whole offense will tank" Newsflash - the whole offense IS in the tank. KD's buckets literally are taking us into the lottery. There is complete license to do whatever it takes to change the offense immediately - even if KD is a smaller part of it
*Reposting from other thread* Vs Bulls, Durant, Sengun, Amen combined for 39/54 FG. 72.2% shooting. 96 total points. That's everything you can ask for a top 3. Average defense should be enough to win But rest of Rockets team was 10-38 FG, 26.3%. 6-30 from three. 20%. That's been the TYPICAL DFS and Tari game for a while now. Even with their decent overall FG% their lack of scoring depth isn't helping things. They should be even better than 4th ranked if they did Reed and Sengun are high variance on both offense and defense. If one of them is off on offense, or is getting exposed on defense, it's a really tough time for the Rockets. Since sometimes Durant disrupts the offense as much as he contributes, it's just so much fluctuations game to game that's hard to count on anything. When the Rockets start out flat, it's a surprise they even have comeback ability without how disjointed the offense is
The Rockets offense is 13th in TS% since the ASB. They are 3rd in offensive rebounding % in that time. The offense has been 15th in that time. Rockets are 3rd worst in turnovers. Some of that is Durant, but a lot of it is just not having a sure-handed PG that can Durant, Sengun, and others the ball safely in positions that they can attack from.
