Up 18, lose it. Go down by 8, come back and win it. This has happen to often this season. Can someone enlightenment me on why we giving us these leads so fast and so often?
Harden resting and not having another playmaker... lack of defense... as much as I rant about Mchale, his time out management has gotten better...except for going down by 8... but mainly, not having a second playmaker to continue the ebb and flow that harden leaves when he takes a breather
As many people mentioned, Harden is a huge key. Also, you have to consider what happens when you play the style we play. We play a style that has a very high variance. We could go from being the best team in the NBA to the worst in a matter of seconds -- simply because of the 3 ball. But, overall, it has a lot to do with the fact that Harden is, in fact, only one man and can only play so many minutes effectively.
Granted, I understand Harden being a main reason. But defense lacks, offense lacks (yes harden is huge part of it), but shouldn't come to the point where we can't even score for over 3 - 5 mins.
then play harden 48mpg so the rockets stop losing big leads all the time. or maybe since diwght is out let dmo be the 2nd option
A couple things... Rockets haven't been great in transition defense this year, and the 3-point shot can go cold. Since the Rockets take a lot of 3's, they are bound to go cold. When they go cold, it creates fast-break opportunities for the other team. Long story shot, the Rockets miss shots and the other team gets easy fast-break points. A lead will disappear quickly because of it. That's why the Rockets never seem to slowly give up a lead by letting the other team chip away. They give it up in bunches. They hit a cold spell and don't get back on defense, and teams can come back from a 20 point deficit in minutes.
The lead dwindled literally right after Harden sat and then we he came back in he got a steal and we finally scored. He's everything right now.
Duh, isn't that not obvious. We force some turnovers, get out on the fastbreask score some easy buckets, and make some more threes, get us some big lead. Bad teams typically cannot recover from that b/c they can't score enough. Elite teams however can b/c they can force us to turn it over and miss threes. As simple as that. We are gunning for home runs and we feast on runs. This is a reflection of the style of basketball we play, ad hoc-ish if you like. Everybody has green light if the shots are in the "flow". This is on McHale.
This has happened a lot. I mean, just look at any NBA for crying out loud. THIS MUST BE STOPPED. Commissioner Silver, fix your league, you lazy hack.
I rather have this roller coaster ride of emotion then being a Suns fan witnessing daggers after daggers to the heart
like everyone said its the NBA which is a game of runs. Plus we have no rim protector at the moment which makes it very hard to keep leads.
