I'm aware that his eligibility is over after four games. However, my point is that this type of "**** this i'm out" move usually happens in the Spring/Summer and not in the middle of the season. If it happens in the middle of the season it is normally a coach move, not a player move. A player, particularly a star Senior QB, bailing on a season in practically October, is almost unprecedented.
I'm normally an advocate for player autonomy, but there's not much to defend this move on King's part. This will do maximal damage to his team. It is extraordinarily selfish. Imagine it was a coach doing this. He would be absolutely crucified for it. At least when coaches leave they do so at the end of the year and do so to realize an actual opportunity and not for something hypothetical.
So... we're going to let him bail on the season and just act next year like nothing happened? That seems like a terrible precedent to set. Even floating this idea... you basically have ruined your relationship with this program and lockerroom...
Faith in Holgorsen has... dwindled, let's say. Jesus. Not convinced King will stay, no matter what he says.
This makes no sense at all. I think Khator should step in and sort this thing out. King is a dynamic runner, but he is as responsible for the awful start as anyone else. He can't hit the downfield pass consistently.
