I really hope so - he's got some real potential. This kills his team option as well, but I think that would have been a cap eventuality. They could resign him after the major FA chase and get around his cap hold. As long as he's still interested.
You might get your wish. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Tyler Honeycutt is watching the @<a href="https://twitter.com/rgvvipers">rgvvipers</a> game from the stands, VIP table, actually. Wonder if there's more to that.</p>— David Hinojosa (@hinojosa_david) <a href="https://twitter.com/hinojosa_david/status/309109909818077184">March 6, 2013</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
We will most likely be able to use set off to eliminate the little dab of $100,000 of salary cap space Honeycutt will take up from us next season. That is unless he is not able to make any money between now and then playing basketball.
I think he had like 25 and 13 the only game he played for RGV. This isn't a true minor league system, not every player is destined for the NBA. I'm sure the folks down @ RGV like players that help them win.
