    I've seen plenty of times when the guard drives, the opposing team seals up the lane, and the guard has to change direction, stop, etc. to avoid running into them. Especially for someone like Roy who can stop on a dime, then do a fadeaway to hit the bucket (he did this several times against Artest). No, Roy CHOSE to go full speed towards the basket. If Hayes was still moving within a second of Roy getting there, if his foot was even touching any part of the circle, then it's a blocking foul. But that call was absolutely correct. Defenders slide in front of opposing driving players all the time, and when the player with the ball sees the lane swallowed up, they have to make another decision. Roy did not do this. Call was correct.
