As an old timer I can't help but see the similarities between Harden and Moses as it pertains the Rockets. Both played for other teams before joining Rockets Both became All-stars in Houston Both became MVPs and perennial MVP candidates while in Houston Both were trade to really strong teams because of a cheap ass owners couldn't afford to pay for good players Moses went on to win a championship in his first year and only losing one game in the playoffs and sweeping the Lakers. I would not be surprised if the Nets don't lose a game in the playoffs the way they are playing. The Rockets became the worst team in the league for several years. The Houston Cougars were good during the crappy years Both will be known for other teams. Let's hope we get lucky with the lotto balls and get the next coming of Akeem. Does Cougar High have the best prospect in basketball on the squad?
The Rockets' rise to glory came because of one of those Cougar alumni (followed later by another) - maybe we'll see the same (provided we draft a Cougar). Then we will have come full circle.

It may have seemed like they were bad for a long time but they really weren’t. The 82-83 season was truly awful. The Rockets only won 14 games. But it was up and away after that. We won 29 games the next season(83-84) with Ralph winning the ROY award. The 84-85 season we won 48 games and made the playoffs. The 85-86 season was an amazing season. We won 51 games. We defeated the defending champion Lakers and went to the NBA finals and went up against The Celtics. After we traded Moses we made a very fast rebound. We had one bad season and then it was a lot of fun with Ralph and then Akeem. Yes, history could repeat itself.

If I recall, there weren't any recruiting trips there the first time. Guy Lewis gave "Akeem" a scholarship based solely on a recommendation from a trusted source. Anyone else remember? Do I have that correct?

No but if you take the Cougar team and put them in a Rockets jersey our chances of winning might double.
