I believe most people here are undervaluing the intrinsic value of moving up the draft. See the following thread in Reddit:

    To name a few

    1. 2005 Portland, took one top SRP to move from 27-22
    2. 2008 Portland, took one top SRP to move from 27-25
    3. 2015 Minnesota, took one top SRP and one future SRP to move from 31-24
    4. 2014 Chicago, took one FRP (#14) and one future SRP to move from 16-11
    5. 2014 Miami, took one late SRP and one future SRP and cash to move from 26-24
    A couple of notes:

    • Lots of those moves were right before the draft, that probably drives the price up because those are targeted trades.
    • Optionality is worth something. A chance to move up 10 is worth more than lots of us think.
Based on the empirical evidence, I would say the pick swap, if converted (MIA worse than BKN but doesn't suck too much), the swap probably is worth around 1 top SRP to 2 SRPs.

    Similar sentiment:

In any case, given where Oladipo's injury history, his performance over the past 20 or so games, his single destination list, his expiring contract, the number of guards that eventually flooded the market, the return was probably fair. They should have held on to Levert, sure (though there are some elements and logics that made me think they would have done the same if given another chance); but the trade should be judged by its return v.s. its as-of market value.
