The countless scandals are not 'alleged'. They are real. They are truly difficult to count. The majority of them would have ended the careers of any other politician but because he has a base that will excuse and overlook everything, here we are.

I'm glad you used the word "should." You are using legality as an excuse to say 'if it's legal to ignore this, it's ok.'
There are many things that are legal but they are not moral or okay.
There are many things that are illegal but they are fine and moral. I think any red-blooded conservative would agree that the government doesn't always get laws right. Using standing laws as a perfect measure of "should" is not going to be perfectly moral.

Trump is not an average Joe who is entitled to perfect privacy of the average citizen. If you run for president and become president, expect extreme scrutiny. It's okay to scutinize someone who could be, or is, the most powerful person on earth. Examining tax returns and income is part of that scrutiny. It gives us a window into business dealings, entanglements with second and third parties, and if he has been truthful about those dealings and his income. It's perfectly fair to ask, and since the president himself has said many times that he would release them, it's perfectly fair to expect him to, and perfectly fair to call him a liar when he doesn't.

The rest of this is just "my hero pisses off liberals, and I luv him all the more."
