I usually don't pick up backup quarterback or tight ends unless they're completely worth it.

Cameron or Thomas would have definitely been worth it. You could consider dropping Vereen since he's out till at least week 11. You could also drop Pryor who is good on his feet but bad with his arm and has a horrible offensive line protecting him.

Either way I think if you truly value the guys on your squad that much I'd just wait till week 5 to find a backup for Fred. Unless someone else worthwhile becomes available.

Bennett is meh this year, without someone like Eli who is always targeting his TE.

Get Heath Miller or someone later, don't sweat backup TE.

3/49/1 on 7 targets is closer to a good statline than a meh one. Compare that to Marshall's 10 targets. Bennett just doesn't have the new car shine that Cameron's and Eiffert's have. Or maybe it's because of the lack of flash in the Bears offense compared to the rest of the league.

That being said, there's not a lot of sense in rostering a backup TE because at least at this point, it looks to be a very deep position. Same goes for QB, with the exception for both being if you believe your backup has top 5 potential.

I'd drop Pryor, Ingram, and/or Moreno. Hartline and Roberts would be your pickups, but you're so backloaded with WRs as it is. If you were inclined to stash more RBs and you still wanted Moreno, maybe someone like a Kendall Hunter is still available.

He's asking for backup help, which I'm not denying Martellus would provide.

He could definitely add him right away and that's what he would bring, depth to the TE position. The thing is, Bennett will be there in the coming weeks. That's not going to change, in the meantime he could stack up on potential guys like Kenny Stills, Marlon Brown, Jermaine Kearse, etc.

I don't waste back up spots for TE, DEF, or K unless they're high value and/or I can play them as my flex.
