Never seen this light before and i was just on the highway and couldnt get the truck no faster then 57mph. Any idea? Its a D with a / through it This is a 2008 gmc/ isuzu diesel worktruck btw
Meh I drove my car with a check engine light on for a couple of years. Sure I had expired tags since I couldn't pass inspection, but it ran like a champ. Lol. It's still running like a champ till this day in Mexico. OP why don't you look at your owners manual and check what the light means. Also, might as well take it to AutoZone and get what the check engine light code is. It's free.
It wasnt that hard to find. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.monarchtruck.com/sites/default/files/pdf/Isuzu%20Dash%20Symbols.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwjGrv7p0KvdAhWJzVMKHWeMDlcQFjAAegQIBRAB&usg=AOvVaw2q-zj4iUiAwJ20msU6Gw_3&cshid=1536417517496
The dreaded No D light. Your car is telling you she's just gone to the other team. You'll have to sell it now to a woman.
Well.. .It looks like you got a lot of answers.. Some correct.. some insane as the guys on this forum don't work on cars (slightly joking). Anyway without looking at the manual... It's the Overdrive light (illuminated for it being off so D with a slash through it), if the light won't switch off (so overdrive is turned back on), is blinking in a pattern or stuck on etc then it will be a transmission problem. With OD off (light on in this case) the car will still shift but you'll notice it only shift when the accelerater is being pressed (no accelerater pedal or going down hill it'll stay in the lower gear and only downshift), it has its uses... especially for towing etc. I could go on but I think this is enough. Anyway don't get screwed over by a mechanic (well a shady one), and being that you're asking about this common light I am thinking you're probably not going to fix the transmission your self (if it's dying)... With that said it could be as simple as a switch/adding fluid/solenoid etc... Unfortunately in some cases it's on its way out but don't get ripped off. You can message me but I will not spend a ton of time t/s it unless I'm getting paid
I learned how to change a water pump on a youtube video, and this moron is asking about an idiot light? Kid needs to learn the real world. He doesn't deserve any actual advice on his idiot light.
