Same. Can't stand Big Bang Theory. I've tried on many occasions to watch it and it's just a bad, not funny show. This, however, I enjoyed very much. I will definitely keep watching.
I can understand that (though I find him appealing), but its definitely not the acting and just the character. Middleditch definitely plays the character to perfection.
I'm sure that's how Kid Rock was sold on it. I definitely thought it was a jab at his declining interest. Has anyone had a better track record in comedy over the last 20 years than Mike Judge? King of the Hill, Beavis and Butthead, Office Space, Idiocracy, Extract
Watch this! <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/9gtu2Yb0nk4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I thought it was ok. I didn't laugh too much, but it was amusing. Don't like how awkward the main character is. Maybe his character will grow out of it as he gains confidence in his career.
considering it's only a pilot i think the characters are pretty well defined, and the actors will continue to grow into them as the show progresses. when that guy got into that skinny car i lol'd
Have you seen "Review with Forrest McNeil"? I've only seen the first episode, but the bit on cocaine was hilarious.
I see this going the route of many fine shows and becoming a cult-classic. Similar to Freaks & Geeks, Undeclared, Party Down and to a lesser extent, Arrested Development. 1, 2 maybe 3 seasons and it's done. Hope I'm wrong, though. Really did enjoy it.
I like the show idea but I thought that series premiere was rather meh. Hopefully future episodes pick up steam and as someone mentioned, hopefully the lead character grows out of the awkwardness they currently have him showing. Great idea for a show though.
Amusing, but a little too over the top throwing as much as they did in there (though it is a pilot). Not sure if it'll last to be honest. I think the "typical SV/geek gags" will run out fairly shortly -- so god forbid it turns into Big Bang Theory. Good concept but can't say the jokes were particularly clever. I also don't see this attracting many non-tech type of people.
i agree. it was pretty disappointing after such a good pilot. hopefully they are able to keep the quality up.
