Spot on. Which is why it’s a shame that Luc is mentally broken right now. Having one more elite perimeter defender would be nice right now.

We have zero margin for error to even consider playing Ryan hoping that he'd contribute anything while not being a deficit somewhere else. We're already gambling as it is playing Green.

I've seen enough of Ryno. He's afraid to pull the trigger. You can see whatever shred of confidence this guy once had is gone now. I would love for him to show up and prove me wrong ... but that's wishful thinking.

It's amazing how they've clamped down without him...He is vital. Yet, here we are. Gotta love it.

    Props to MDA/Jeff...and the boys!

Ryan has checked out clearly, he's gone in the off-season unless they somehow convince him they still want him, but he has quit plain and simple.

Ryan had his chance and he even shrank in garbage time. You can lead the horse to water but you can't make him shoot 3's. Maybe if the Rockets survive this round he'll get a shot in the finals, but he's almost certainly blown his chance for this series. If anyone I'd rather see Luc get some time again to see if he's feeling any better about his shoulder. At least he can give them good defense even if he can't score.

quit based on what. hes not in the rotation and thats more of tucker stepping up and playing well as well as matchup purposes. hes not out here pouting and making it some big news like others probably would that hes not playing. so bc he doesn't just fire away any chance he gets when he has gotten some pt thats quitting? no thats just dumb. we already have GG throwing up any shot he sees. apparently theres people around here that want another guy to do that as well.

Also, the way Warriors play defense, they switch everything and hug the 3 pointer. How are you ever going to get Ryan an open shot unless it's a mis-rotation by the warriors.

At best you can post Ryan up on a mismatch and have him shoot one of those dirk fade-aways. Every 3 pointer is giong to be contested and Ryno is just going to pump fake and pass it

Every time he's on the court he just refuses to shoot, his confidence has severely dropped, but Codman alluded to Ryan being very unhappy with the trade rumours and seemed to distance himself from the team a bit. I actually wish it was just confidence and it might be, but I think he's really done with this team right now. MDA not playing him would otherwise be very silly since he's not that bad on defense.

you act like hes been on the court a ton. hes been on the court 3 times with 5 mins or less in this series. of course your confidence drops. thats just part of being a human being when you havent been asked to play meaningful minutes for much of the playoffs. your cod reference has nothing to do with the playoffs. ryno was fine before that.

the same applies for utah and minny. the last time he actually got meaningful minutes was the beginning of the minny series and the rockets were losing that game trying to find a spark.

this isn't a video game where you just start bombing away shots once you insert someone

    Think for a moment

Do you REALLLLYYY want Ryan Anderson shooting 3's in a Toyota Center game that is as important as tonights?

Maybe game 6.. But no, not tonight, please Dantoni, not tonight in our arena.

Anyone who says otherwise is exposing themselves as someone that doesn't watch Rockets games. I have no problem giving him a few minutes to see if he is hot on the road.

that's fair. But i think our guys are gonna have tired legs and it would be nice to tap into our depth ...which was a big strength of our team all season.

The chess match, as per the war of attrition article, has evolved into basically a 6v6 battle.

Nene, Ryno, Green, JJ, Moute etc were all useful players to get us to this point, but the Rockets have to maximize every minutes / possession if they expect to go toe to toe with a GOAT level team.

I think the worry is that the defensive intensity is unsustainable if you play just 6 guys in a possibly 7-game series against the best offensive team.

Because Durant attacks Ryno every time he touches the floor! He can't defend!!

He's not agile enough to rotate

Ryno proved to be a defensive liability.
