Has anyone ever had a log cabin home built?

So does anyone recommend this provided that I could find someone to build it for me?

The reason why I ask this is because I have land here.....and ive saved up enough to buy a home like this...so that I wouldnt have a mortgage; everything would be paid for.

I live in a 3000 squ. foot home now but it belongs to my grandmother who asked me to take care of it for her. My problem is that I always face an uncertainty because she technically could sell this home at any time (shes facing pressure from her children; my aunts and uncles) to get her finances in order.

Anyway, i dont want to have to face that situation without a place to live. I thought this might be something cool and since I have the land to build it on.....I could have my own home. I could afford this....but I wasnt sure of what it costs to have it built. Ive always heard that materials are 50% of the job; does that mean id have to pay another 20 grand to complete the job? I only have enough saved for the home......not to have it built.
