Another freshman, arguably the best player high school player coming in. Went toe to toe with Thon Maker in high school as well. Very talented, very versatile, did have an injury in HS though. Older video 16 years old
This smells like a 76ers pick. 1 - He's a big, and per the 76ers philosophy you can never have enough of those 2 - He's injured a lot. Another check. In all seriousness, who can tell anything about this guy. I mean clear upside, but he's always injured. Of course, Kyrie was injured at Duke, too, and that seems to have worked out. In all seriousness for the 76ers, this seems, right now, to be a solid guard heavy top of the draft. Ball, Fultz, Smith, Fox, Ntilikina... this would be a good draft for the 76ers to get a top 3 pick, or top 1. Lonzo Ball, Ben Simmons, Embiid, Saric and using one or both of Okafor/Noel to move and fill in assets... and finally the process might work.
I don't think you can put too much stock into injuries sustained and recovered from a teenager who is still growing.
Duke has an excellent strength training program, so I am guessing that he is "skipping leg day". Worried that this youngster won't ever be able to have a stable career with his injury record. Damn AAU, ruining kids careers.
Looking down at the end of the Kings bench last night, noting that this guy can't get a sniff of the court. Check his physical line - 6'11", 240... still quite young, and appears to be past his injury issues... Is he a classic Morey "undervalued asset" to target, even as a former high draft pick?
This would be akin to trading for Kyle Lowery or Goran Dragic when their value was at it's lowest. Trade for Giles please! Josh Jackson too.
He is not 100% yet IMO. But his upside is crazy. https://www.nbadraft.net/players/harry-giles/ https://www.nba.com/draft/2017/prospects/harry_giles#/ https://syndication.bleacherreport....-write-the-next-great-comeback-story.amp.html https://www.si.com/nba/2016/06/29/nba-draft-2017-prospects-harry-giles-josh-jackson-jayson-tatum
I agreed with you that Giles isn’t a bad bet. But it feels like DM has constraints on what he can do. Finding a back up 4/ or shooter/ wing defender will take priority than building for the future. can we explore the vetting process during the sale? How in the hell did Tilman win this?
