Harden & Westbrook @ the Kobe Memorial (might speak)

Not sure why some CFers are up in arms over possibly them being late to the game or missing it, altogether.

They're mourning the loss of a colleague / mentor / friend / rival. So what if they miss a basketball game? Doesn't matter if it's a game against the worst team or the best team - some things are bigger than basketball.

I’d rather they go to this celebration of Kobe’s life than not just to play in some game against the Knicks

 

Beautiful memorial. Was going upstairs to get a game sesh and saw my wife casting it on the living room TV. This will inspire alot of generations to come. That bethoven is a banger.

 

The hilarity of T-slack talking about how Kobes work ethic was different than others and how that taught him how to work. LULZ

 

who is up in arms about this. We are just wondering about logistically how they are going to make the game in time, it's fun to discuss what they are going to do and whether or not it will work.

 

FWIW the winds favor them going east this time of year, commercial flights have been making the trip in 2.5 hours or so. Winter brings a strong jet stream that helps flight times going east. Not sure what kind of jet Fertitta has, but if it's one of the faster ones you can probably cut 15 minutes or so off of the flight time, assuming no enroute delays.

If they can get off of the ground by 3:30 Houston time, they can probably slide in by the skin of their teeth. Anything after that is pushing it and by 4 you have no chance unless *shudder* they took a chopper from Hobby. Doubt you would make it in time even with a police escort.

Not the worst thing in the world if they miss the game or at least the first half. Let's see what happens, I'm sure there's a mad dash to the airport with a few players that are trying to get somewhere for a game tonight.

 

Fack that!!, 2nd seed is key to a championship run!!! I still think Rivers and EG leading the way can beat the Knicks. Also, I'm going tonight and like many others we want to see box office players baby!!!

 

I'd rather they miss the game but I expect them to play......they obviously expected nothing less of themselves.

Do they not have the ability to play in the second half if they aren’t there for the start of the game?

Assuming the weather's good, they could take a helicopter (I know, I know) to Burbank or Van Nuys, where boarding a private jet and getting in the air would take only minutes. I seriously doubt they would risk betting on LA traffic to follow a pattern of any kind.

Flying private is definitely not the experience most of us have in airports, waiting for security, etc. Those things are ready to go and time spent on the ground is minimal.

 

Knowing Harden and Westbrook they are going to play but if they don’t completely understandable.

 

Vanessa speech had my allergies acting up when she was referencing not being able to see her daughter walk down the aisle and Kobe not being able to do the father daughter dance with her.
