Whether you believe this or not, it sure is a nice sentiment.

Family Believes White Spot In Photos Is Boy's Guardian Angel
Several Cameras Take Pictures With Peculiar White Circles
Survey: Do You Believe White Spots In Pictures Are Angels?

    http://www.newsnet5.com/news/2331915/detail.html

CINCINNATI, Posted 6:33 p.m. EDT July 14, 2003 -- In the movie "The Sixth Sense," a young boy said he saw dead people. In Cincinnati, a boy said he could see angels.

NewsChannel5 reported that the boy, Ryan Reynolds, died in April from a brain tumor. Before he died, he told his mother he had a great time at a family picnic because he was surrounded by his guardian angels.

Family photos from the picnic revealed peculiar white spots -- almost shaped like fish -- on the pictures.

"My parents died way before he was ever born, and he said, 'Mommy, your mommy and daddy,'" said Shirley Reynolds, Ryan's mother. "I said, 'Yeah, what about them?' He said, 'Is that them in the picture on the wall?' And I said 'Yes.'And he said, 'Mom, I just wanted you to know, they're both OK.' He said, 'They're just as pretty as they are in that picture, except they have wings and they're waiting for me.'"

Three different cameras using three different kinds of film were developed at three different places and all had the same transparent white shapes.

Not sayin the angels are false, but maybe it was the sun shining down and the picture being taken at a certain angle that certain rays of the sun were hitting?

definitely could have been that...who knows....the picture isn't what i find most compelling, though...it's the peace that this boy had while facing death.

The interesting thing is that the shapes are apparently there on multiple pictures - 3 pictures taken from different angles, with different cameras and film, processed at different locations.

Why does the so called news have to hype this stuff up just for ratings?

These people needed something to make themselves feel better about losing a loved one, and now they have it (and that's, ok). I wonder though, how much bbq would angels eat? Or would they eat the ghosts of the dead animals?

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to appear on a tortilla in Mexico.

Meowgi...it appears they had it well before he died..the boy seems to have had a tremendous amount of peace before he died.

Ratings?? come on, this story isn't getting national play...it was picked up by Drudgereport who picks up odd stories often...but this is merely a local story in Cincy.

    Looks like sensationalism to me.

I think this child had already been taught what "guardian angels" were. The angel archetype was already implanted into his mind at 5 years. I doubt it came out of nowhere.

you figured this all out on your own without ever having me the boy or his family, huh?? man, that's good work!!!

sensationalism?? it's not exactly sweeping the nation. it's a human interest story AT BEST. even in the context of this article, it makes no conclusions...it presents the family's story..and that's it. hardly sensational. want sensationalism??? turn on dolcefino right about now.

Nope, I did make an educated guess though. Angels are a part of Christian culture and myth.

Make that a Christian interest story. It is entertainment, not news.

To me, coverage of supposed christianesque supernatural events is almost worse than focusing on stories of crime and sex etc. The network is blatantly catering to the ignorant in hopes of an increased viewing of their show. They are peddling Christian supernatural fantasies, not news.

Meowgi -- there is nothing particularly Christian about angels...there are angels mentioned in the Koran as well. recent polls indicate lots of people in this country believe in God and angels as well. not all of those people are identified as Christians.

no use arguing this any further...but this has all the makings of a very traditional human interest story that you might see at the end of any newscast.

Christianity and Islam are both an offshoot of Judaism and all are interrelated. But I think I know who their target audience was for airing the story... 52% of the people surveyed on the news site believes the white spots are actual angels, 31% believe in angels, but don't think that's what the white spots are. Only 17% don't believe in them at all.

The story makes no actual conclusions, but when you are watching it, the conclusions are very much implied.

I know it has the makings traditional human interest story. It isn't a real big deal, it just bugs me! :) (mostly for the reasons it was "reported" in the first place.) It is just obvious to what spiritual mindset the show is catering to.

Interesting, but I could barely see the "shapes" or whatever in the the pictures they showed.

I would love to believe in angels...really, I would. But as yet, I don't. But the idea itself is almost a purely positive one, and must be of great comfort to those who do believe in it.

God I wish I believed in something like that.
