Here’s a novel idea: Cotton could have simply said that while slavery is part of American history and the role it played should be taught, it was a deplorable practice that never should have been allowed. Instead, he opted to cite a quote saying it was a necessary evil.
Slavery is on going in China and the UAE now to build their prosperous economies... no liberal complaints about that though.
Easy to say slavery was a “necessary” evil when it was you or your loved ones being kidnapped, exploited and raped. His family history and cultural heritage weren’t destroyed by the greed of others.
Take over by force, yet cry when looters and rioters (not protestors) are taken out by “force”. Give me a break. Every damn liberal/far left socialist in here is stuck on the word “necessary” but y’all lack basic historical understanding. I’ve already gone down this road with you in particular in the “Melisha” thread started by the same attention w**** OP. Carl, there was a point when you actually had some pretty funny stuff on here. You’ve been trying to hard for a while so I guess now you’ve decided to spam the D&D like sour grape.
If slavery was "necessary" as deemed by the mythical Founding Fathers and Senator who paraphrases them, then reparations are a fair way to compensate for a crime people generally agree is morally reprehensible? I wonder which FF said it... So i can tear his cracker ass statue down... Uhhhhhh i mean write to my congressman with choice words!
Your defending of slavery as a necessary evil is another example of your white nationalist solidarity.
Republicans finally admit that the United States was built on the backs of slaves. It's about time. We await their reparations proposals.
So does this mean that the genocide of Native Americans was a necessary evil so that we could steal their land and turn it into the great US of A where we've finally realized that genocide is unacceptable and must be stopped (unless if we're the ones doing it)?
Can't wait till they replace us with Robots/Androids then they will realize Humans Leaders are bad turds who only value money/wealthy. Everyone starts of as a good turd, tell they get a taste of power/wealth...then they go down this path of who is filling my pockets. Then out comes the bad turd who justifies anything/everything just so they keep power/wealth going. Includes gaining a cult following, so the cult can continue to align the Bad turd with more wealthy and power. Was Slavery necessary? Hell if i know, but i know it's 2020 and we still talking about it because obviously...it wasn't the best option. But I am sure the "MASTERS" made a lot of $$$. But it's okay, today we don't call it "Slavery", we use new phrases Low wage workers Exploited Labors Essential labor Human trafficking Call it what you want to call it...i guess all necessary since they all equal to wealth/power. This got me thinking....maybe Thanos was correct because this turd, got rid of 50% of the world (concept of greed, wealth/power) and then destroyed his own power and lived on a farm.....i actually feel sorry for the Turd now. And before i get called a commie again...yeah i am a commie "in your reality". Probably going to regret posting this garbage post...but just a little pissed about how some "Words" can come out of leaders who are in position to affect thousands of people minds. This isn't some person on the corner street who has 1 follower on his/her twitter. This person has many followers, who will now twist his words and say "Slavery was/is necessary".
Slavery, low wage workers, exploited laborers, etc. are all necessary functions of capitalism. It's hilarious that capitalists have this fake self-righteous indignation about a system that is exploitative in nature at its core. Like... what?
Lol, the majority Democratic Congress voted to pass sanctions on China for it. I don't think anyone in the USA likes whats going on with the Uighurs (This includes Republicans) but all we can do is either slap them on the wrist or spark WW3. At the end of the day, it shouldn't be only on USA Democrats to solve that issue, it should be on the world as a whole to try and peacefully solve the issue.
That's what I thought when I saw the headline. Then I read the context which was every ounce as bad as the headline, lol.
