Anyone want to mention some awesome Documentary movies they could recommend? I've got a bit of free time over the next week or so and want to find some good stuff to watch. I should mention movies though, as I don't really have the time to slug through a TV series. I've heard OJ: Made in America is awesome, but just haven't had the time to get around to it. For reference some of my favourite documentaries are Hoop Dreams Dear Zachary and The Imposter Any suggestions?
The Fog of War. https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/the_fog_of_war_eleven_lessons_from_the_life_of_robert_s_mcnamara When we were kings https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/when_we_were_kings King of Kong https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/king_of_kong
This is pretty cool too Lost in La Mancha http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0308514/ As well as this. Thereabouts. https://cyclingtips.com/2014/08/thereabouts-the-doco/
Thanks guys I'll check them out, I've seen a few of these already and liked them like exit through the gift shop, citizenfour, inside job and fog of war. I think I'll watch Senna or Lost in La mancha a crack tonight. Thanks for the suggestions, I knew I could count on my rox bros
For something currently on Netflix not already mentioned: Zero Days If you love movies/shows that deal with Hacking, you'll love this. Must-see for Mr Robot fans. Also of interest to anyone interested in govt-sponsored cyber warfare. And I second When we were Kings
Yep. Steak Revolution Jiro Dreams of Sushi Sushi: The Global Catch Blackfish The Irish Pub Grizzly Man Abel Raises Cain Food Chains The Thin Blue Line (or anything by Errol Morris) Welcome to Leith The Act of Killing/The Look of Silence Room 237 eta: Pelotero
When you're done watching those documentaries especially Jiro dreams of Sushis, then watch Documentary Now: Juan Likes Rice and Chicken. If you haven't seen Stop Making Sense, the 80's documentary about Talking Heads watch that, and then watch the Documentary Now episode Final Transmission. Hilarious stuff.
Indeed! LOVE that show and it's lead me to the other doc's it's mocking like the stunningly heartbreaking Grey Gardens, see below! For me this is the best bit from the talking heads one; And going all meta here's 2 of the heads watching Final Transmission;
Yes, I too checked out Grey Gardens later. I can't remember what turned me to watching it, but it was crazy. It was a great documentary. The Tina Weymouth and Chris Franz watching that video was awesome. I loved it.
