    Finally saw this movie last night and really enjoyed it.

    I was interested in the scenes when the Irish immigrants were coming off the boats and were immediately enlisted in the Union Army. We have the citizenship papers and honorable discharge papers for Irish immigrant relatives on my mom's side...unbelievable. They left war to come to fight a war they had no stake in.

    agreed on Daniel Day Lewis...he was amazing.
