Also, James Johnson is an interesting player to take a look at here. He's an athletic 6'9" forward who has flopped out of the league, but is a big time athlete and was promising as a mid first rounder coming out of Wake Forest in 2009. If he really takes advantage of this situation, don't think for a minute that the Rockets wouldn't think about moving out Covington to get him minutes behind Parsons.

Not making any predictions or anything, just saying…. player to watch.

My early take on the Vipers, they like to shoot threes. Two guys missed 9 3ptas.

If Lin shoot threes with the recklessness of the Vipers so far (Yes, I know it was one game only...but could be a problem if they don't hit more or shoot less as season goes on), even James88 would say he needs to shoot less.

That's the highlights. I didn't see the game, but I'm pumped that we have Chris Johnson back. I'd guess that he's familiar with the RGV style and excelled early. He went 10/18 for 28 points and pulled down 10 rebounds. He shot 4/9 from downtown. Isaiah Canaan was 1/10 from downtown, but had 8 assists. Look for him to ramp things up. The Rockets love their D-League experienced guys.

Robert Covington with 29 FGAs?! Even Carmelo Anthony thinks that's a lot of shots.
