I agree, I think Nene would still be a serviceable center even in the end of his contract. Stupid rule the CBA and the owners agreed on limiting the contract lengths for players over 38. I doubt there's huge interest in signing Nene to a bigger 3 year contract than what Houston was offering but who knows. Let's all sit down and pray Nene and the Rockets get things done. We certainly need him at the C if Capela is staying on the roster for this coming season.[/QUOTE] I totally agree with you, this 38 yr old and over contract stuff is just plain nonsense. Man, I just loved good old Charles Jones. The Chief was still a productive player when he was 39 yrs old.
I think we need more depth at PF, Ibaka (depending on true age issues) seems like the most realistic target we should try and get. Would cream my pants if somehow we got millsap.
Last season MDA finished most games with Harden, Bev, Gordon, Ariza and Capela. No reason to believe he won't finish games with Harden, CP3 and Gordon next season. That left two players out. It's a no brainer the Rockets grab Ibaka whom I think fits this team as a glove both offensively and defensively. Get CJ Miles to hit that available open three with CP3 and Harden making plays. I hope contract year Ariza will up his three point shooting as well.
It's crazy he's only 29 years old still. Like if he didn't have a **** attitude he would just be entering his prime.
Are there any possible buyout candidates besides Melo and bosh? Bosh is going to get medically re-evaluated for a buyout soon. Out of beasley, josh smith and nick young who would you guys rather have?
Adrian Wojnarowski Sources: Suns out on Millsap pursuit, turning to use cap space to absorb $ dumps paired w/ assets. Open to moving vets, going all-in young.
5:23 PM day one at a glance Looks like we're down to the Shump deal. Unless there's something in the sleeves bunker. Hopefully sort out Nene. Milsap not looking likely. Melo, who knows. Hayward feeling the Heat. Still to meet with the Celts and Jazz Banana float? What else?
Codman, thanks so much for all of your contributions and best of luck on a quick recovery and clean bill of health. If Ne agreed to a lesser amount of money as a "hometown discount" of sorts, it seems that correcting the age 38 snafu should not be a deal breaker, right? Just restructure? Thanks!
