I see Morton, JD Davis, Laureano, Moran, Musgrove, Keutchel are all playing well. Good to see guys the Astros either brought along in the farm system or help with adjustments to get to an above average level.
Jordan Lyles was traded from the Pirates to the Brewers today. Seems forever ago that he was an Astros, yet he is still only 28.
Well now there are a few more guys to the list of former Astros. White, Reed, Kemp, Stassi, and Fisher. I am curious how good Fisher can be. I’m glad he’s getting his chance. He has been in AAA excelling for a long time, but he’s been blocked at the ML level. Plus, with the Astros going after Brantley this off season, the Astros analytics probably wasn’t as high on him as what his numbers show.
Looks like he may turn out to be the only saving grace of the Cole trade for Pittsburgh. Musgrove/Feliz are basically average 26 year old pitchers that are likely who they are. Jason Martin still figuring it out and is 23. I still say no way Cole gets traded if they knew that THIS was a possible version of him... or at least he would have fetched more value this past off-season or this most recent trade deadline... but there goes the fact that other teams can't do what the Astros are doing.
Disagree on Fisher being blocked. He had his opportunity and did not take it. Had he done something in 2018, Michael Brantley might not be here today.
