All of these can also be negotiated. I would blame the democrats if they didn't show up to the table and make reasoned arguments. I would also blame them if they fell into baa-ram-ewe mode and toed a party line without thinking for themselves.

Their job is to manage the laws of the land such that the needs of the general public and their specific constituency are considered, met and protected. When the needs of those groups conflict is when the hard part of their job starts.

 

Aren't we talking about the best economic president of modern time?

Ok, a few pics. It's a Republican idea until it became Obamacare. So much so, that it's equated to abortion. Extremist much.

They do that every four years, it's called the Republican National Convention. Bobby getting destroyed here. It's getting ugly but funny nonetheless.

 

It was a republican idea until a few years after the Heritage plan came out. The Heritage Plan was back in 1989, but as soon as the Hillary championed the Clinton Health Care Plan of 1993 the republicans shut it down.

 

If the ACA wasn't a basically Republican plan it never would have been passed. It was written by, paid for and benefits the Health Insurance industry.

 

It is pretty funny how a Republican idea 25 years ago is socialism today. It underscores how far to the right these guys have moved. They make Reagan look like a hippie.

 

Great job IMO.

He's faced a lot of criticism and adversity and took office in one of the worst possible positions. From a European stand-point, he has definitely improved the american image that was down the gutter after the Bush administration.
He had a lot of work to do, wasn't able to do all, but has done very well. He was brought up to fail in that he was "overvalued", his image made him out to be a messiah while he was running for office. Still, he's done a very solid job and I see no future candidate doing better than him, both republican and democrat. Basically, America, your ****ed.

 

Not with multiple half- and whole-trillion dollar deficits well into his second term; those have set too big and too bad a precedent to burnish a legacy. Republicans should have probably tanked an already lost election and held the line against TARP, then outflanked Democrats on the one non-partisan, non-social issue in existence.

 

I disagree, we need to take back our country and restore the good times!......




And by those good times, I mean the times when everything was better for women, children, racial minorities, gays, veterans, and anyone who wasn't a blue blood
