And this new venture will never see the light of day. It's ridiculous that Houston doesn't have a real amusement park anymore. And, no, neither the Galveston Pleasure Pier nor Kemah Boardwalk count, either.
Saw this in my news feed the other day. Can we get it more centralized like Astroworld was? Also: Don't forget the ill-fated Adventure Pointe in Texas City! Owners of abandoned Texas City theme park Adventure Pointe file $10M lawsuit against developers
Their founder just graduated or is about to graduate with her MBA this year. The next in kin is due to graduate in 2024. Promising future for this park.
God, you’re awesome. I see you here sparingly, but that you were the first to respond to this is just chef’s kiss amazing.
Glad to see you leading the post count in here this early already. Please keep it up. We are all counting on you.
I don’t think you meant this in a funny nice way, but I’m gonna roll with it and post one more time here anyway just in case I’m correct.
LOL, that was the first thing that popped out to me. The founders are a couple of college students with 81K and a dream launched in Lizzy's childhood bedroom. And she is a 6th-generation Texan! They must be serious!
So this reminds me of a time when I was like 9 and a friend's parents owned an extra lot behind their house. One day a group of us decided to build a bike track on the back part of the lot. So we got some shovels and rakes and designed a path through the trees with some reinforced turns and stuff and it was fun to ride around like a circuit and do time trial type things. But then we had a grand idea. This grand idea included tunnels and mountains and other really cool things to ride your bike thru. We got our shovels and started digging a hole for the tunnel. We dug for 20 minutes and then decided it was too much work so we abandoned it to go back to riding our bikes. These kids are 9 year old me and my friends just grown up. Same thought process (without the initial bike course and available land) complete with no concept of reality and what it takes to, you know, actually build a theme park. Good luck to them, i guess, but I feel like we had a better chance of digging tunnels and building mountains in my friends back yard than they do of making this a thing,
Good comparison. I think everyone in our generation has those memories of grandiose designs thrown aside after a few hours or days of work. I remember wanting to build a pond around a tree in my back yard, and I even bought concrete to line it, then my friends and I ran into root after root and never finished it. I think we had maybe a 6' across loop dug that was maybe a foot deep at the most. We also built tons of forts in the woods that we ultimately didn't even use because they were too far from home to go to conveniently. My treehouse ended up being two stories. Good times.
