Come on man. This is ridiculous. Every Maury move that turns out to be crap is sighted as a Le$ move.

Maury was partly responsible for the DHo situation last season. Then he busted on his top free agents (Durant, Horford, Bazemore) and so to save face went after 2nd tier free agents.

Do you really think top free agents are running to play for the Rockets (despite having Harden) esp when they see how Murray and his crew treat the one big name free agent who chose us?

I agree that's really bad and free agents are avoiding us (for now) but I see it as more of a player chemistry issue. Howard didn't leave because of Morey, he left because he didn't fit the personnel on this team IMO

Whatever man. If you think Maury as the GM could do nothing to resolve the situation, then more power to you. Fact is Murray promised DHo the world to get him here and then did the bait and switch while not caring to explain the situation. Murray has never played basketball and doesn't understand the human element of things. Players have big egos and it's up to a GM to step in and resolve the situation. I agree Howard is a drama queen but you have years of Howard being in the league to know that. you know exactly what you are getting with him.

You can't tell me a tuned in Howard would not have helped our defense and rebounding last night after watching our clueless bigs.

I'll give MDA the benefit of doubt. Too early to judge. He made some a statement last night with benching Capella letting mozgov beat him back for the easy dunk. Milk hair would just clap and say play harder. Jb would just have a look of bewilderment.

Howard would have definitely helped, but he didn't want to play with this roster.

Either way, I predicted Morey would be gone by the end of the season.

Les is gonna give Mike Anthony full control

James Harden pushed for Dwight Howard to be traded and for the Rockets to fire head coach Kevin McHale, according to Ken Berger of CBS Sports.

Berger, citing multiple NBA sources, reported Harden pushed management to let go of McHale, who was fired after 11 games in which the Rockets went 4–7, just months removed from a trip to the Western Conference Finals with essentially the same roster. Harden reportedly angled for general manager Daryl Morey to deal Howard, but the team was unable to find the right trade for the high-priced, mercurial center.

Yeah but imagine a Morey less Rockets team and still with Alexander as the boss.

Won't be a great sight tbh.

Waste? Lol, its the first game against a young hungry team that was stroking the three. Defense is an issue but that takes time to mesh with the way they switch, guys need to get use to closing out on the open shooter. The bench lost us that game, when Harden sat down the lead went with him and the Lakers went on a run. This Lakers team is better than what everyone is thinking, they may not make the playoffs but they are going to be competitive and steal one every now and again

    And this surprised.... nobody.

We were a pretty good offensive team last year. We were a terrible defensive team.

So our solution was to hire a coach that has, for his entire career, been known for being an all offense no defense kind of guy. We then lose our best defender to free agency and go out and sign a PF that can't defend, a shooting guard that can't really defend or stay healthy, and an old past his prime Center that used to be ok at defending but is now old.

It's just one game. Let's not overreact.

But I'm worried that we will start hearing things like "We just need to get on the same page".

This is the most depressing thought I have heard in a long time.

This is what happens when you hire an offense only coach when you were already a competent offensive team, with improvement only needed defensively.

Well hey. Harden got what he wanted. I mean. Just look how happy they all are.

This is what they hired. This is MDA. He hasn't been a successful coach in 15+ years.

This isn't surprising. He focuses on offense and wants offensive players that fit that style and typically therefore aren't great defensive players, and then doesn't focus on defense.

This is our coach now. Lol

Mike D also panicked by taking out Capela in crunch time and putting in Nene.

We cannot win with two superstars (H and H), what makes us think we can win with Harden only?

When teams trapped Harden, we had already figured out a secondary passer like Smith or DMo to receive the ball in the middle and look to make a pass.

Sigh ... why do we keep re-inventing the wheel?

This is actually a bad roster, consisting of cast-offs/retreads from other teams.

No, don't fire D'Antoni. I want low win totals and high draft picks and he's delivered on that in his previous stints with the Knicks and Lakers. Keep him 2-3 years and finally rebuild this team through the lottery and youth.

sounds crazy but may just work. If Gordon and Anderson are both injured im sure we will be getting a high draft pick
