You don't need to defend analytics, analytics are correct. Only idiots don't believe in analytics at this point.
Now that Tilman is the owner, Morey's job will be scrutinized I am sure.....unless the owner does not give a flying rats arse.
He'll give Morey another raise. Apparently there's idiots on this board who still can't appreciate how good the GM is.
He's above average but certainty not elite and has made some terrible mistakes in the past. I am so tired of everyone trying to come up with excuses for him every time he messed up. He should be held accountable as well. Not trading for Melo is a massive mistake and he should be fires for that!
Bash me all you want but historically my prediction has been very accurate and I expect the same this time. OKC will go further than the Rockets in the playoffs.
You would have had us tanking for years and years. Read your below quote... Thank Darwin you aren't our "tanking" GM. Instead, Daryl Morey snagged us James FREAKING Harden, AND NOW CHRIS FREAKING PAUL. That is probably the most talented back court the NBA has literally ever seen, and not only that, we stayed a competitive team for essentially Daryl's entire tenure! We were a top 4 team in the NBA last year, and we just added one of the best point guards of all time, IN HIS PRIME. We also have... 1. The 6th man of the year, Eric Gordon. 2. A 3-headed defensive monster with Ariza, Tucker & Moute. 3. A 23 year old, up and coming stud at C, and the best backup C rotation in the NBA. 4. The best three point shooting PF in basketball. 5. And most important, we have an identity. That is what wins games. What is the identity of the Thunder?
He was about to tank and Morey himself admitted that tanking is a far more efficient way to rebuild. He got very, very lucky that OKC had a cheap owner and the Gasol trade was nixed. Eric is good but I've already explained multiple times why we should've still traded him for Melo. The "3-headed defensive monster" doesn't scare anyone. You would be delusional to think that they can stop the likes of KD and Melo. Those guys are too good you can't stop them. That's why I don't like the signing of Tucker. We should have used that money on guys like Nick Young, Gay or even Beasley. Because there are too many mechanical players in our frontcourt and we need somebody who can put the ball on the floor and CREATE. You need multiple playmakers to compete with the top dogs. Agree with Capela. I give Morey credit for drafting him. Ryan Anderson shot 28% from 3 in the playoffs, average less than 10 ppg and literally got torched by every one he tried to guard. Are you saying the Rockets are more successful than the Thunder? OKC has had more success in the last 5 years than Morey in his whole career.
And what terrible mistakes would those be? Did you ever consider that Melo just flat out not very good anymore?
