It’s settled. I’ve decided to make the long awaited trip back to Texas next year to coincide with the start of the Playoffs. In saying that, does anyone have any suggestions as to a really in-depth map of Texas? I’ve of course looked online but can’t really find any good shots of what the maps actually look like – and don’t want to spend money on something which mightn’t be what I need. I will be spending around a month driving across the whole state visiting as many places as I can, and would like a map which actually shows the really small out of the way towns (as opposed to just mentioning the big built up areas) Will be in Houston for the two initial home playoff games, but from there I have no set plans and I’d love to see all the hidden parts of the state (I’m much more a fan of the smaller, simpler things, so please don’t hold back on anything you think I mightn’t enjoy) Things I know I’ll do: - Two Rockets home games - A bbq trip just going trialling bbq joints - If all things align I’d love to go on a road trip with some fans to an away game or two Random question, do colleges only open for tours at specific times of the year (ie leading up to a new semester?) Or can you organise anytime? I’d love to actually visit a few campuses I’d look at applying for in a few years. Look forward to hearing your suggestions Clutchfans, thank you!
Colleges give tours year round, I think. I'd reach out to them in advance and let them know your story.
Make sure to hit up an Astros game. Also show palace in Pasadena, if you don't wanna spend a lot of money go to 59 an Bissonet an you will see em walking.
What do you like to do? What kind of terrain to you like? Rivers? Canyons? Hills? Lakes? Grassland? Coast? Trees? Plains? There's a ton of great places.
Aren't you that Australian guy who was in the army and quit to work for your dad or something? Just getting my soap opera right. Anyway, if you're coming all the way from Australia there are much prettier, more scenic places than Texas. Just the opinion of a 37 year resident. Now for BBQ, it's definitely the right spot.
Went to the Astros game the other night. My only time this season. Made the mistake of going a few weeks after catching a Red Sox game at Fenway. We Houstonians flat out suck as baseball "fans." What an embarrassment.
About time, mother ducker! Nice. Take in the Aquarium and visit the nightlife in Downtown. There are many classy clubs where you can get your drunk on.
