http://www.fantasybaseballsite.com/baseball/clutchcity/ The draft is set up and we are ready to begin. The timer will start with the Rook's first pick. 1. The Rook (Rocketball) 2. PhiSlammaJamma (PSJ) 3. SmegCity Smarmy Gits (SmeggySmeg) 4. Expos Forever (fadeaway) 5. Stinky Punks (mogrod) 6. LonghornFan`s Xtreme Chalupa (LonghornFan) 7. The Aliens (SamCassell) 8. Jent`s Llamas (chrisjent) 9. DarkHorses (DarkHorse) 10. Da Yankees (hotballa) Please make picks both here in this thread and on the league website linked above. The timer is at 8 hours per pick. However, it is common courtesy that if you see your pick is approaching and you are going to be away from the computer for a long time, to e-mail a short list of player names to me or someone else so that we can make your pick for you and not slow things down too much. As you may remember, three trades involving draft picks were made last year. These traded picks have been accounted for and have been entered into the draft. To recap, the pick exchanges involved in these trades were: - PSJ`s 2008 5th round draft pick belongs to Expos Forever - Expos` 2008 7th round draft pick belongs to PSJ - Rook`s 2008 3rd round draft pick belongs to Expos Forever - Expos` 2008 6th round draft pick belongs to Rook. - The Aliens` 2008 8th round draft pick belongs to Expos Forever. - Expos` 2008 10th round draft pick belongs to The Aliens. For the new guys... The scoring system and starting lineup requirements are on the "Rules" page of the website under "Lg Reports." You will be starting 1 C, 1 1B, 1 2B, 1 3B, 1 SS, 4 OF, 1 UT, and up to 7 P each game period. Please note that there is a max limit for pitcher games of 155 for SP and 130 for RP. You can use up these game limits however you want, and may start up to 7 pitchers each week. But, a general rule of thumb is that if you start around 3 SP and 2 RP for each and every game period, you will run out of pitching games roughly around the end of the season. Part of a successful season is knowing how to effectively manage your SP and RP games. Some game periods you may decide to use 5 SP if your opponent is very tough; other times you may only decide to use 1 SP. It's all up to you. With regard to drafting, it's a good idea to have at least 5 dependable SP and 2 dependable RP. There are two game periods each week (Mon-Thur and Fri-Sun). To enter the draft, log into your team and click "enter draft." Then, click on a position, then player name, and finally click the submit button to add him to your team. Good luck everyone and happy drafting!
One more thing, the player rankings on the league site are a bit wonky, so I hope you did your own research! I forgot to mention, if your time expires, you get skipped, but are able to make your pick at any time whenever you get back. But hopefully that won't happen, right?
whoops... just realized I had accidentally set the draft timer for 4 hours instead of 8. Just fixed it.
Fade, Not like I care either way, but wasn't our Rios trade last year my 3rd for your 5th...............just curious.........
Sorry, but it was definitely 3rd for 6th. Here's a post from last year that references it: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=3032341&postcount=55
