Fade, you gonna activate El Duque, since he started Sunday's game vs the Stros and isn't hurt anymore? I guess you could swap him and Schill...

For that matter, looks like Jent needs to activate Jeff Kent, who's been healthy for the last month.

Yeah, the IR rules have always been pretty laid back, mostly because I just don't want to devote the time and effort to police it. I noticed jent's IR players a few weeks ago but didn't consider it worth making an issue of. I figure as long as the player was in fact legitimately hurt when he initially got placed there, then he can stay there until you decide to activate him; just like in Yahoo. If it makes you happy, though, I'll put the Big Schill on there instead. :)

Just giving you a hard time man, it doesn't make a difference this time since you've got another injury to fill the space. Just commented because I saw you snagging all the free agent SPs and decided to take a peak at your roster. ;)

I didn't know that the IR rules were that lax, I guess I've been overdiligent keeping up with my own injuries.

fade, could you update the pitching games used?

I wanna see if Phi has enough games left for all those pitchers he threw against me.

I need every break I can get at this point to even smell the playoffs :D

I've been at the GF's place all weekend for the holiday, so I've been away from my computer with the pitching info spreadsheet. I'll get everything straightened out by tonight or tomorrow at the very latest.

Game limits are 155 SP games and 130 RP games.

Pitching Games Used (through Game 43)

    Rook: 139 SP, 123 RP
    Finn: 143 SP, 130 RP
    Jent: 141 SP, 129 RP
    DHor: 136 SP, 117 RP
    SamC: 142 SP, 120 RP

    Fade: 145 SP, 125 RP
    -PSJ: 147 SP, 125 RP
    Smeg: 135 SP, 130 RP
    LHFn: 148 SP, 126 RP
    Cast: 142 SP, 107 RP

Here is the update. It looks like PSJ does indeed have enough games left. Too bad -- I was hoping you would beat him this week to help secure my division lead. Doesn't look like that is going to happen.

The only major note at this point is that jent only has one RP game left and thus, should run out this week. After the first one is recorded, all subsequent RP entries will be stricken from the record.

Playoff teams are almost set. After looking at the numbers, the Aliens, PSJ and Expos are pretty much guaranteed playoff spots at this point.

Basically it comes down to this: if Rook wins and jent loses, then Rook is in and jent is out. If anything else happens, then jent is in and Rook is out.

Crunch time for you guys! Good luck.

Talk about bad luck. My best hitter (Hafner) and pitcher (Clemens) join Barrett and Isringhausen and Liriano on the injured list. :(

    Spoiler???????

To be completely honest, I am going to end up with as many wins as others that make the playoffs, and by far my team doesn't even deserve to be in contention. So, hopefully Jent takes care of business and officialy eliminates me by winning this week........not to say that I wouldn't want to be in the playoffs to hopefully knock off Fade, but I have to call it like it is - and my team does not belong there....

I need to go back to the drawing board and re-group for next year...

It's all wrapped up, folks. Here are the playoff matchups:

The Aliens (Div. Winner) vs. Jent`s Llamas (Wildcard)
Expos Forever (Div. Winner) vs. PhiSlammaJamma (Wildcard)

Semi-finals will be comprised of two game periods: Sept 11-14 and Sept 15-17, which will be added together to determine which teams advance.

The Finals (World Series) will consist of four game periods: Sept 18-21, Sept 22-24, Sept 25-28 and Sept 29-Oct 1. The scores for these four periods will be added together to determine the champion.

There are no pitching game limits in the playoffs. Each team will start 5 SP and 2 RP for each period. Set your lineups as usual before each Monday and Friday. Remember, you are allowed to set an entirely new lineup mid-week if you so choose.

    Good luck to all!

    Fade,

What was the wildcard tiebreaker? I'm assuming it was overall points and not head to head matchups?.? Not a big deal, but curious. Thanks.

Though in this case there was no need to go to the tiebreaker, as your record was better.

Whew, Jent put a scare into me that last day. And now, the championship series. Expos vs. Aliens. May the best team win.

Can't believe my boys pulled it off. They picked the right time to peak, that's for sure.

Well, you won the first round, Sam. Quite handily, I might add. Didn't count on Halladay going down with an injury, but I can't say I'm surprised. All my other stars got hurt at some point. I guess it was his turn. The baseball gods had it in for me this year.

My team is such a tease. Just good enough to squeak into the finals and get my hopes up again after I had pretty much given up. Not nearly good enough to win it all. I shouldn't have even gotten past Phi.

Luckily, there are 3 more game periods for a miracle to occur. You should get a big boost with the return of Sheffield, though.

Oh well. At least I beat Finn and Rook. That's the most important thing. :p
