So I thought I would start a new thread for our returning champs the Rio Grande Valley Vipers (especially as long as I will be following them for Patrick news)

Here is the link to the futurecast page - http://www.nba.com/dleague/news/dleague_webcasts.html

All of the games should be on there live during the season... and they have added an archive for previous games as well

As for the preseason - Vipers won one and lost one... here is the recap from yesterday's game (box score not available yet) http://www.nba.com/dleague/games/iowa_riograndevalley_101113.html

They won the first game of their preseason http://www.nba.com/dleague/games/boxscore.jsp?gameId=2011000002 my boy "Razor" Ramon Harris played 20 minutes in that one ;) Hopefully he makes the team! They have made three cuts so far.

Edit: I forgot about Gilstrap being cut because of his injury as well... so the roster stands at 13... so two cuts to make since we're not counting Patrick

Edit 2: Also forgot to add if you want to listen to the "pregame show" on Thursday it's streaming live - http://956sports.com/

Here's the roster so far. 14 guys. A couple returnees from last year, I think. J. Egleseder and P. Sullivan were training camp cuts (Sullivan was only on the roster for like 2 days). 2 Kentucky guys: Patterson and R. Harris. Mustafa Shakur from Arizona makes it 3 Wildcats on the Vipers. Other than that, Richard Roby is Kenyon Martin's half-brother.

Most notable: Terrell Harris from Oklahoma apparently weighs 0 lbs. His lack of a corporeal existence will likely pose a challenge in the pursuit of his pro basketball career.

That will make it very difficult to handle the ball, if only because he won't be able to use his body to shield it from being stolen. Good luck to him, I'm proud of him for getting this far. He's something of an inspiration.

Don't forget (last night's leading scorer) Jerel McNeal, who the Rockets very creatively signed during the preseason while they were in China and then cut before he even got a single practice in with the team.

Like I said at the time McNeal was signed, that move was solely for the purpose of allowing the Vipers to get his exclusive free agent rights.

    Nice move, Gersson Rosas!

(Also, that comment about Harris almost made me spit out my coffee!!!)

Quick bump to remind everyone that the game tonight (Thursday) is on Versus.. if you want to see the ring ceremony.

I personally don't get that channel so I will be watching on futurecast. :)

Edit: I lied.. I do get it! I get to watch on the big screen!

We got Richard Roby? Cool beans. He was a projected lottery pick a couple years back.

Article about Patrick's response to his d-league assignment

Edit: Bugger... last cut by RGV is Ramon Harris. Color me sad for him! Thought he had a chance to stick.
