    I've got a Dell Dimension desktop that I want to add a dvd burner to. It's one of the space-saver models that has a slimline cd drive(internal).

    I've heard some people say that the external slimline usb drives aren't as good as the full-size internal ones. But since my Dell will only take a slimline drive internally my question is this;

    Would it be better to get another slimline internal burner and install it, or get a full-size internal burner, and hook it up externally to one of those usb-to-ide/sata cables?

    Thanks in advance.

    I'd just get an external usb burner. It may be a little slower but whatever, you're making dvds not curing cancer.
