Juice, if I get a 2012 second round draft pick as compensation for drafting someone with high salary and I use that draft pick, do I have to drop someone since I would have 16 players?

Yes. I think the link I posted explains how waiving a player works.

Was going to take Austin and call them The Renegades, but 4 teams so close in Texas? Would it work?

What about The El Paso Rebels?

I'm going with Austin, everything is better in Texas I heard.

    City: Austin, Texas
    Population: 790,390
    National Population Rank: 14
    TV Market Rank: 44

Team name: The Renegades, colours...Blue,Blue,White,Silver lining

    Logo: New age Gatling gun

Here is my team city and team name:
    City-Seattle
    Team Name- Supersonics

I know. I know. Supersonics, how original! As we all know, Seattle used to have an NBA team and the city proved that it could support the NBA team. I think that bringing back the Supersonics and bringing back the original Logo and uniforms can attract a lot of support from the Seattle community. In a few years, the team will be a contender!

Here are my picks. I listed the roster first, then the protected players, then the unprotected player I picked:

    Chicago Bulls:
    Protected:
    1. Derrick Rose
    2. Carlos Boozer
    3. Omer Asik
    4. Rip Hamilton
    5. Luol Deng
    6. Taj Gibson
    7. Joakim Noah
    8. Kyle Korver

Ronnie Brewer- Solid defensive player who makes a lot and complements Jordan Hamilton pretty well.

    Denver Nuggets
    Protected:
    1. Arron Afflalo
    2. Wilson Chandler
    3. Kenneth Faried
    4. Rudy Fernandez
    5. Danilo Gallinari
    6. Ty Lawson
    7. Javale McGee
    8. Chris Anderson

Jordan Hamilton- Will probably be the scorer of the team. If he can learn to shoot at the right times and is able to score more efficiently, he can develop into a very dangerous scorer.

    GS Warriors
    Protected:
    1. Andrew Bogut
    2. Stephen Curry
    3. Richard Jefferson
    4. David Lee
    5. Klay Thompson
    6. Dorell Wright
    7. Brandon Rush
    8. Andris Biedrins

Jeremy Tyler- Probably a bust but you can’t teach size.

    Hornets:
    Protected
    1. Eric Gordon
    2. Al-Farouq Aminu
    3. Trevor Ariza
    4. Xavier Henry
    5. Jarret Jack
    6. Gustavo Ayon
    7. Emeka Okafor
    8. Jason Smith
Greivis Vasquez- Tough point guard who has playoff experience and can effectively run the second unit.

    Houston Rockets-
    Protected:
    1. Kyle Lowry
    2. Kevin Martin
    3. Chandler Parsons
    4. Luis Scola
    5. Patrick Patterson
    6. Courtney Lee
    7. Marcus Morris
    8. Samuel Dalembert

Greg Smith. – I WISH THE ROCKETS WOULD PLAY THIS GUY MORE. He has a lot of potential IMO and can rebound and defend well. Can possibly develop into something special.

    Memphis Grizzlies
    Protected
    1. Marc Gasol
    2. Zach Randolph
    3. Mike Conley
    4. Rudy Gay
    5. O.J. Mayo
    6. Quincy Pondexter
    7. Tony Allen
    8. Marreese Speights

Darrell Arthur- Young pf making only 2 mil a year. Rebounds well and shot around 50% the last year he played. The Grizzlies may be hesitant on keeping him due to his injury last season and due to Speights stepping up .

    Bucks
    Protected:
    1. Monta Ellis
    2. Drew Gooden
    3. Brandon Jennings
    4. Luc Mbah a Moute
    5. Larry Sanders
    6. Ekpe Udoh
    7. Beno Udrih
    8. Tobias harris
Mike Dunleavy-Experienced veteran who can shoot the 3 at an efficient rate and can provide a spark off the bench.

    Minnesota Timberwolves
    Protected
    1. Ricky Rubio
    2. Kevin Love
    3. Luke Ridnour
    4. Derrick Williams
    5. Nikola Pekovic
    6. J.J. Barea
    7. Wesley Johnson
    8. Anthony Randolph

Michael Beasley- A total nutcase but can score VERY well when he is hot.

    Toronto Raptors
    Protected:
    1. Bargnani
    2. Bayless
    3. Amir Johnson
    4. Derozan
    5. Ed Davis
    6. Solomon Alabi
    7. Linas Kleiza
    8. Gary Forbes
Jose Calderon- Toronto sends 3 mil cash and a 2012 2nd round pick
I need a pg who can distribute the ball well and shoot the 3. He is one of the best pure pgs in the league. He makes a lot of money, but his contract will expire in a year, which should open up cap space.

    Sacramento Kings
    Protected
    1. Demarcus Cousins
    2. Tyreke Evans
    3. Jimmer Fredette
    4. Isaiah Thomas
    5. Terrence Williams
    6. Chuck Hayes
    7. Marcus Thornton
    8. Francisco Garcia

Hassan Whiteside- Probably a bust but is a true 7 footer and may develop into a defensive force.

    Utah Jazz- BOOOO
    Protected
    1. Alec Burks
    2. Devin Harris
    3. Derrick Favors
    4. Gordon Haywood
    5. Al Jefferson
    6. Enes Kanter
    7. Paul Milsap
    8. DeMarre Carroll

Raja Bell- Veteran who can play defense and hit the 3.

    Spurs
    Protected
    1. Parker
    2. Ginobili
    3. Jackson
    4. Leonard
    5. Neal
    6. Splitter
    7. Blair
    8. Bonner
Danny Green- Another Guy who can provide a spark off the bench with his dangerous 3 pt shooting abilities.

    OKC Thunder
    Protected:
    1. Kevin Durant
    2. Russel Westbrook
    3. Serge Ibaka
    4. James Harden
    5. Thabo Sefolosha
    6. Reggie Jackson
    7. Kendrick Perkins
    8. Eric Maynor

Cole Aldrich- Lottery pick 7 footer who can be a defensive presence and can perform some basic post moves. With time to develop, he could be a top center in the league (and there aren’t many).

    DRAFT PICKS

With the 4th pick of the 2012 NBA draft, the Sonics select Thomas Robinson

The Sonics Trade 35th and 38th pick to Golden State for the 31st pick and select Royce White

    FINAL TEAM
    Calderon/Vasquez
    Hamilton/Brewer/Bell
    White/Beasely/Dunleavy/ Green
    Robinson/Arthur/Tyler
    Aldrich/Smith/Whiteside

A very young team for the most part. White, Robinson, and Aldrich could be the frontcourt of the future and could be VERY tough to handle. Calderon is there to help everyone out by getting them open shots and by facilitating the offense. Hamilton will be the primary backcourt scorer in the lineup and if he is given a chance, he could become a dangerous scorer. There are some very young guys that could develop and become beasts (Smith, Whiteside, Arthur, Robinson, White). The salary comes out to be 37,966,502. There is NO money guaranteed to ANYONE after the second season, which is also a plus. If the Sonics lose for a couple of years and get high draft picks, they could become contenders very soon.

Are we allowed to resurrect team? If so, can I take the Baltimore bullets? Or change the name.

Can I do another one which is slightly different just for fun. My picks will be different, which is about it. Can you trade players from the expansion draft during the 2012 draft? My official one will be the one I posted if I can't use the other one

Just get it done by July 31 (midnight EST) and you'll be fine.

I'd prefer you only post one for now, I don't want you to inadvertently steal someone's idea or give someone else an idea. If this gets popular though, I'd be more than happy to do these on a regular basis. Sorry.
