My question was, can you pick guys like Kyrie Irving (obviously not him since he would be protected but other guys from that draft class)
Yeah, you could pick Kyrie Irving (although you would have to have a damn good explanation for why he'd be unprotected). That was bad example on my part. You couldn't pick Camby either. My point was you couldn't pick a guy like Valanciuas or Lior Eliyahu. And a team wouldn't have to protect those guys either.
Okay. An expansion draft occurs when a new team is added to the league. The most recent one was in 2004, when the Bobcats joined. You are tasked with three things: Picking a city for the team to play in Naming the team and most importantly, building a roster How do you build a roster? You pick one unprotected player from any current team's roster. A team can protect up to 8 players. You do this 13 times, and can only pick once per team. You also have the 4th and 35th draft pick in this year's NBA draft. Did that clear anything up? Do you still have questions?
Maximum salary is 66% of the salary cap this year. So 38.31 million. Next season, the team can spend 43.43 million. In the third season, they can spend as much as everybody else. As for the minimuim, I took the 66% of the league minimuim and got 28.73 million.
And do we go by the mock draft to see who would fall to our pick? And also, when do expansion teams get to be in the lotto?
Expansion teams join in the lottery after their first season- in our case, 2014. For our sake, just assume that Davis, MKG, and Drummond are off the board by now.
Im in... and can i PLEASEEEEEE!!!! Have las vegas... its were i was raised and i have such a passion and hope for them to get a professional team...
