on sportscenter they had a segment over the "beltran sweepstakes". a writer from espn the magazine claimed that he didn't feel like the yankees would sign beltran primarily due to the tino martinez signing in addition to randy johnson. his feeling was that it would not occur because the pickup of beltran would cause bernie williams to move to DH, which would mean giambi would have to play first and martinez would not play. both correspondents were asked where they felt beltran would end up and where the best fit was, both responded that they felt beltran would end up in houston and that it is the best fit. in his closing remarks, one of the correspondents said that he believed the astros bid will end up around 100 million.

Which is the whole point of the Beltran sticky, new info has been going into that thread all day, yesterday, and the day before.

It has now. Mainly it took so long because I was trying to ignore it, in hopes it would die. But since people kept bringing it back up I had no choice.
