Portland traded #3 for this years #6 and #27 and future conditional first round pick.

Let the draft day trades begin...

Jazz get the point guard they want, probably Deron Williams. Great trade for them. :(
Surprised Portland couldn't get more considering all the teams that need point guard help.

I also like this trade for Portland. They will still be able to get their guy (Webster or Green) with the #6 and will probably be able to find a rotation player with the #27. Also, the Jazz could still be a lottery team next season so that Future 1st Rounder could come in handy.

Listening to Jim Rome online...which is Sciciliano hosting today...

he was reporting the trade of #3 for #26, #27 and a future first

aside from the fact that Utah doesn't have the #26 pick, that trade would be stupid.

I think the deal they made is decent.

The 6th and 27th pick should have been enough considering how deep this draft is, plus Portland could get Webster or Green easily with the 6th pick. Instead, they rob the Jazz by getting another first round pick. Wow, they moved down 3 spots by getting 2 first round draft picks. Great trade for Portland.

Maybe, but it isn't clear what the conditions are on the second first round pick. It could be have a 5 year term, or be protected through top 20, or anything like that.

From Utah's perspective, they are a healthy return of Kirilenko, a better season by Boozer (or trade him for good player) AND a solid backcourt player away from playoff contention again.
